After months of work, I finally finished this Patreon expansion poll winner featuring Nayomi the Vaporeon turning up her chest size! And goodness what a picture this turned out to be. @.@
This pose single handedly earned Nayomi the nickname “Catfish” because this feels like a crazy cat like pose along with her being an aquatic like Vaporeon.
This picture took the learning process of my new way of handling digital art to the next level by manipulating it to handle alternative pictures. Once I figured out the logic it wasn’t too hard to actually do. Photoshop has plenty of tools build into it to make it easier to do. Some of which were as simple as color coding layers in the layer menu.
Personally I would love to try and do more digital art but these medias take by far the longest to do of any. I imagine this picture took 15-20 hours or something from start to finish.
A big thorn in my side with doing digital is urban environments like houses and buildings. I really don’t enjoy doing them but I think I figured out a solution for the future and something Stampy abuses. As one of the first books I ever read on how to do art put it and fundamental to Bob Ross’ style, learn to make the media work for you and capitalize on its strengths rather than taking prior knowledge of a different media to make it work. In my case, don’t try to do traditional techniques in a digital media when digital can do it a different and easier way.
