Reward Ideas: A Discussion

Hey guys! Thank you so much for the continued support. Not having to juggle things like polls and drawing ideas has lifted a weight off my shoulders. But this presents a new problem involving incentives. Although I'm satisfied with my current patronage, I need it to go up a bit. I was thinking of offering a cheap reward tier for a "free" monthly commission, where the person can tell me exactly what they want. But it's a raffle instead. However, raffles are complicated. According to Patreon rules, raffles are considered gambling and local laws about this activity vary. Of course, Patreon then says to find other ways to make rewards that are easy to fulfill but satisfying for patrons. Well, I can't really think of anything at the moment. As I've said before, I can't put too much more art related work on my plate. But there's literally nothing else I can offer as a tangible reward. I mean, maybe I can offer a sticker pack or something? That you can use on Telegram? However, I need to create new stuff to provide an incentive for people to pledge money PER MONTH. With my current commission workload, there simply isn't any room for too much more stuff. Especially if I want to maintain a more healthy drawing pattern, with more emphasis on fun and self-care, less on grinding art out like a machine. What are YOUR ideas, everyone? I want to hear them! Got an example from someone else that I can use as inspiration?

Yeah, this is a big challenge for me. Streaming is pretty much the only thing I can offer, and even then, with how little I draw personal art for myself... I don't privately stream as much as I should. I lost a patron in that reward tier because I'm not privately streaming often enough. But I need to work on commissions, and it would be entirely redundant to privately stream them when it's something that should be streamed to the public. Commissions for public streams, personal art for private.

I'm not sure how fair that would be, since people would be waiting months just to tell me what they want me to draw. If I go in order. It would have to be 12 people max, one for each month of the year.

What about instead of a raffle, a rotating gift system? A bit like the monthly slave thing you used to do, except on a higher tier and more restrictive.

The only thing I can think of is discounts for higher tier patrons. Outside of that I am not sure unless there is something outside of art that you are good at that you could do for your supporters. These sort of things are tricky. Heck, on Twitch I still have no clue what to offer subscribers after months upon reaching affiliate that would make it actually worth subscribing to me.
