Ah, nobility! The very epitome of civilization! One might even call them the foundation upon which my Master stands! They are those who control the masses, so that they might be of use to the world! Naturally, I would greet the appearance of one amongst Master’s loyal retainers with praise and promise!

Praise, in that there’s another for Master to foist work upon!

Promise, in that at the first sign of betrayal or cowardice, I shall lop off her head in a single swing with a smile on my lips and a flick of my wrist!

In the face of the devious, cunning, and self-assured, there was only one appropriate stance to project! Absolute loyalty, a complete lack of trust, and an assurance of inevitability! Nobility , one and all, must compete with one another for supremacy, to produce grand lieutenants and servants for their liege. However, such a state of affairs would lead to foolish, capable individuals attempting to become the liege!

I was helping Master, by ensuring the first of his nobility knew never to betray or usurp him, lest she die a most horrific death! Along with all the friends she has in her head! Indeed, should this noble lady seek to betray my Master, her very soul shall find itself rent into oblivion! Mhmm! Master would surely praise me for my proactivity! Not that I would ask for praise, of course! A job well done, for Master’s sake, is happiness made manifest!

With my promises and praise conveyed to the noble, I awaited her response primly, properly, and with a smile. This Lorelai Alrtringham was to be Master’s first subordinate of good standing, grace, and ability, with a long lineage behind her!

Treating her well, until the first thought of action against Master, was of utmost importance!

“I-- am glad to be well-informed of my current circumstances, Miss Occisor.” Ah, the fruits of custom and tradition was not to be underestimated! Careful cultivation of traits has resulted in a magnificent servant for my Master! Though deathly afraid and fearful, with her hands trembling, she smiles and speaks with only the slightest hitch in her voice! How grand! “Thank you for taking the time to inform me.”

T’was not an issue! It is the duty of the most loyal, sworn, and bound to a liege, to inform their liege’s help that an uppity nature will result in downity affects for their heads!

Master is kind, considerate, and noble beyond belief, and he’d never think to slay someone who betrayed him, as he ought to! It has occurred already once before. So a prudent, true servant shall take action before such a betrayal can occur, for Master’s own kind heart!

But, should that never be the case, and should she remain a competent and capable servant for Master, she shall be protected, cared for, and happy, unless Master ever dictated her to give her life for every kindness he gave unto her!

Truly, mhmm, Madame Alrtringham ought to be proud of her accomplishments! She now serves Master, who will surely give her the whole world in exchange for her loyalty and trust!

“T-that’s very nice to hear, Ms. Occisor.”

Hmmm, how curious! Master had expressed a great many compliments regarding Madame Alrtringham, yet she does not seem to be either wise or well-spoken! Of course, I’d meant to scare her, but her composure was not broken.

So, I could only assume that she was hiding something from me, and therefore Master as well! Aha! The aristocracy was a means to an end for Master and never shall it be otherwise! For his privileged commanders, straying a hairsbreadth out of the generous boundaries Master set shall only have one result! Aha, I say!

I have unveiled the deception, just as I’d planned, and shall now work to remove it!

Aha!

“No! No, ‘Aha’! None at all, Ms. Occisor!”

I stayed my hand, keeping a wary eye on the woman across from me.

I was right to not trust her at all, but Master would be very cross with me if I acted on supposition alone.

She will provide evidence to her own deceit, then!

Lest the complete obliteration of her and her friends be even less merciless than I’d intended!

“You’re untouchable by magic, Ms. Occisor! I can’t exhibit my abilities to you properly!”

A likely excuse! One that is very convenient and acceptable! And, not what I wished to hear! Her only available answers are what Master will want to hear regarding her timely demise by my hand!

Aha! She is stalling! She is playing with my feelings, manipulating me, so that I will stay my hand until Master comes to stop me! Then, she shall manipulate his heart, until I am cast aside forevermore!

UNNACCEPTABLE!

“Li loves you very much, Ms. Occisor! More than everyone else! I saw, in his heart of hearts, the only reason he doesn’t touch you is because he fears to take advantage of your heart!”

Oh, what a joyous new companion I’ve made today! How nice she feels in my arms and how my heart sings when she is present. Aha, mhmm! What a stalwart ally Master has acquired for his retinue! What a useful power she has, to be able to see into the hearts of hearts of others with unerring accuracy and reliability!

Truly, Master is blessed to have such a fine individual working for him, close to him, and by his side who knows his true feelings. Without a doubt, she shall ensure to inform me of such things, so that I can make sure that he’s always happy, and whatever makes him sad is done away with as quickly as possible!

“Y-yes, of course! That’s right! Absolutely, Ms. Occisor!”

So agreeable! So beautiful! So attentive!

Master deserved the utmost best, and Madame Alrtringham was certainly the best! I shall endeavor to keep her protected and doing her duty as much as possible!

For Master’s happiness, there was no price too great, after all!
