I had no reason to reply to his incensed words, because another stood for me!

“Rude, Kita.” Angela was the return of St. Michael the Archangel! Purloining her with foodstuffs, meagre offerings to a being such as her, resulted in her friendship and protection! I could scarcely believe that I could gain such an able ally with so little, yet here I was! Lord Thoth’s sage counsel was effective beyond reckoning.  “Stop.”

“For fuck’s sake, you too!?” Miyakuro’s expletive earned him a chopstick to the temple. While I could barely use the utensil to eat, Angela was able to use it as a weapon! Undoubtedly, the skills of one of God’s most foremost warriors, feared even by gods, remained within his human reincarnation! Not only that, but she remained stalwart and brave in her protection of the innocent! “That’s wrong! Totally wrong! You bribed her with chocolate truffles, you spoiled brat!”

Mr. Miyakuro did not cease glaring at me for the rest of the meal, nor did he cease insulting the gods within me or try to sway my heart from them, but I withstood his words. I needed to merely bide my time, to be careful and patient, and surely the time will come when I can be properly taught Divine magics by the best teacher available! Though that would mean becoming a part of his family, so that I might claim all the secret techniques he had, it was a worthy price for the full extent of my power!
