“What!?”

Ahahah! This is why I’ve always liked Rias! Aria was always hoity-toity, responsible, and demure! She was boring! BORING! But, Rias was always fun to be around! Especially since she liked action figures! Even though she didn’t play with even the coolest ones.

“I’m going after your man!”

“I heard you the first time! Why would you do that!?” Ah, Rias, my favorite cousin… that is a silly question. A very silly question And, an embarrassing one! But, if you really want me to tell you, I will! Issei’s just too cool to not go after! “I-if you want to go after someone cool, g-go after Song! Issei isn’t cool!”

So, this is what true friendship is like. No hesitation whatsoever to throw the other person under the bus to fit your own needs… I like it! Then, of course, you have to make up for whatever you did a hundred times over! Yep, that must be it. Friendship and relationships, real ones, are amazing. It’s like fighting to be the best in another person’s eyes forever! Wow!

And, yes, Song is cool… but, he’s too cool to be cool!

“…Ah, I understand.” Of course you do! You’re Rias! You understand different forms of appeal. Going after Song is a challenge! A great, amazing challenge that everyone worth their salt would pursue, because achieving success in that would be a feat. But, it’s a generic feat! Song’s too perfect, amazing, and cool! He’s what’s everyone’s going for… so there isn’t much of an achievement in getting him. “...Did you just call Li Song a slut?”

I’m not very smart, so think I just did by accident!

“I’ll apologize to him later!” I promise I will, Song! I’m sorry for accidentally saying you’re a slut. You’re a nice guy and you don’t deserve being badmouthed, even by accident. I’m really sorry! “I swear on my family’s name I’ll apologize to Li Song for calling him a slut!”

“So… you’re just going after Issei because you like him for being an underdog? But, then why not just be friends with him? Why do you need to go after him?”

“That’s a good question!”

“…and?”

“And, what?”

“Do… do you have an answer to my question, Saria?”

“Nope!”

I mean, I just like him! He’s cute, funny, and earnest. He works hard, doesn’t give up, and wants to protect the people he loves. And, that makes me want to protect him, and have him protect me too!

That’s about it!

I mean, we did just meet a few weeks ago.

I can’t exactly answer a biggie question like that so soon!

“I just like him loads, and I thought that I should tell you, because you like him loads too!”

And, of course, I had to tell Rias about it!

It’d be really mean if I didn’t, right!?

Hmmm! I never liked eating out, mostly because it wasted time. But, fast-food places are pretty great! They can get me all the food I needed quicker than I could, and without the hours of warning the staff needed to usually keep up.  All I needed to do was give my order, then all the burgers and fries flowed out in a steady stream onto my table. Mmmm! Tasty synth-beef and all-natural veggies, sauce, and bread. With milkshakes and fries! Thirty orders… all coming staggered, so they’ll be hot!

I should eat out more often with Rias!

She even makes me classy, even though I don’t need to be!

I don’t have time to use a napkin, when I’ve got food on the way!

“I see that your table manners are as good as I remember.” It’s funny because it’s true. I’ve never had good table manners! Man, Rias is so funny! “So, what do you think about my plan?”

Oh, that.

That specific plan!

“You forgot about everything I said since the first meal arrived didn’t you?”

“Mrph-gulp-yes!” A girl cannot pay attention to words when there is hot, fancy food before her and she is hungry! One of those challenges at a time, and I can listen, but not both. Never both! “I forgot and didn’t hear anything since my first bite!”

But, I was sure it had something to do with being friends with Hyoudou Issei first.

“I said that you should be friends with Ise, first.”

YES!

“Ah, so you were paying some attention. Good.” Ah, the forehead poke. My mortal enemy! Why can I never ever evade you? “Saria-chan, you need to be considerate. You can’t just play with your heart, or someone else’s, so carelessly. If you’re going to pursue someone romantically, you need to know them first.” That was good advice. It made sense. Romance is important! So, like anything important, one had to make a careful approach… and strike hard and fast when necessary! “Please, tell me what you’re thinking, because that smile on your face is worrying.”

“It shouldn’t be. Because, I’m going to be friends with Hyoudou-kun just like you said!” Rias calmed down at my words. “Then, after, we’ll get married and have loads of babies, just like all people in love do!”

Step 1: Friendship.

Best plan!

“No, no, no!” Not best plan? Awww. Cheeseburger, comfort me! “When you become friends, after you know what you need to know, then you need to decide whether or not you’re willing to have a romantic relationship!”

“But, I already know everything I need to know to be willing to go after Hyoudou-kun!” He was cute, caring, compassionate, never backed down, and worked hard for those he cared about. One, two, three, four, and five. Five reasons. Good ones, too! That’s all I need! “He’s great! I’m not really sure why we need to be friends first! I mean, you’ve been friends with him the longest, and you just ended up falling in love, right? Won’t the same thing happen with me, then?”

Rias didn’t have a response to that!
