Dev Diary #2: 'Testing the Waters' Arc

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Dev Diary #2! Read the previous diary for additional context on the arc! This one's coming to you from a half-unpacked apartment...

This week I focused solely on the script. Sometimes as a solo dev, I have to prioritise - and with limited time due to the move, this made more sense than spreading myself thin.

Arc Current Progress:

• Script: 3403 words (2672 new since last update)

• CGs: 16 completed (same as last week)

• Animations: 0 completed

• Outline: Still solid! ✅

The good news is that despite the chaos of moving, the script is flowing nicely. I'm pretty happy with how the character dynamics are developing.

Some dialogue sections might get tweaked as I revisit them. Quite often I write a draft and end up making some minor changes over time until release. The core narrative remains solid though, which is what really matters at this stage.

Feedback

I've been reading through all your feedback on the last release. Some solid points were raised that I'll be addressing before pushing 0.5.33 to the wider public but appreciate all the love as it was the first update with newer story content.

If you have any additional feedback, I'd love to hear about it. I'll likely set aside an afternoon this coming week to implement some improvements.

Side note: You wouldn't believe what a pain these multi-character compositions are! Getting everyone positioned naturally, making sure all the expressions work together, consistent lighting...
