Bonus Quarantine Monster Drawing!

Around this time of year, one of my favorite spiders start to show up in the evenings here in Georgia: Wolf-spiders! If you go out at night in the summer with a headlamp on, you can see their tiny little eyes in the grass. Flipping the light on and off is like revealing  blue and green diamonds in the darkness. It's spooky and surreal.  Anyway, here is my tribute to these little night-hunters!

Look for more monsters soon.  I'm trapped here with nothing but a pencil, a pad of paper, and a million monster thumbnails to work through...

ALSO! We FINALLY got our materials list up on our site!  https://www.gallerygerard.com/materials-list

If there are any materials you would like to see our recommendations on, please let me know! Annie and I will be updating it as we go this year. Also, since these are affiliates, if you shop through those links it helps us out!

TUTORIALS UPDATE!: This month's tutorial tier will be receiving 2 tutorials, both of which were written in part for the Fantastic Arts Conference. They are heavily geared towards career improvement and I am making them available exclusively for Patrons later this week.  And thanks to the quarantine, I have already finished the last part of our Improving Drawing Skills Series, so expect that to land early next month!

STREAMING AGAIN?: Yes I hope so. We are working out scheduling now, but hope to do some surprise streams this week. We will post here and on Instagram as soon as we know the specific time!

More surprises on the way. Thanks for your support everyone!

Stay vigilant, stay safe!

Aaaaawww, great- thanks a lot, Greg. There goes the argument I use for those who hate spiders- that "Afgan hounds are hairy with long legs, and you're not afraid of them!" Anyway, thanks for the materials list.

Same for me. Rotating the pencil is just such old habit now that it only gets in the way for me when I use the Uni. And there is a tiny bit of wobble related to the function, which over time drives me crazy. I just love those Staedtlers! I can't find anything that beats them for less than $25.

That's cool. For some reason the random long hairs on its legs make it so much creepier to me....not sure why that is. X) Great materials list. Admittedly I order the Staedler pencil as soon as you mentioned it on the stream. Took it out for its first test run this week. I need very little excuse to order new art supplies, especially pencils. That auto rotating function on the Uni pencil sounds interesting; though at this point it is a habit for me to rotate my pencil without thinking about it as I draw.
