brilliant ryder aliens height chart and lore

i realized i never actually uploaded this when i did it! and since this patreon is the only actual archive of information on these characters, a lot of y'all may have never seen them or learned their names or species. i might as well use this post as a light overview of The Lore too.

dr "pinkie", absicola: she's brilliant's medical doctor, in charge of maintaining her good health and studying her basic biological needs. she's outwardly very cool and calm, but internally thinks of brilliant as Super Cute!! she can't speak out loud, as her species communicates through flashes of light under the skin and subtleties of body language. luckily there's interpreters and devices that can read these flashes to translate. the absicola are a largely aquatic species, and require special collars to breathe and move comfortably. they make use of the same hover technology as brilliant's cuffs. 

dr. odonata, zygoptid. she's dr. lindon's co-lead at the xenosexuality lab. her research largely involves the application of pleasure-devices across species, and trying them out on brilliant to see how she responds. she's very direct and business-like, not as prone to emotional connection. zygoptids are based on damselflies and have several social genders. she would be considered an intersex trans woman in human terms, as she has both a penis and egg-laying capabilities. fun fact about zygoptids: they can't efficiently move on the ground, as they're built for constant flying. landing posts are set up all over the place anywhere they're expected to frequent.

brilliant, human. it's brilliant! she was a test pilot for a special new engine, which tore open a wormhole that threw her to the other side of the universe. lucky there were all these aliens to find her!

dr. lindon, urodelian (cave). the head of research at the xenosexuality lab. he's passionate about his field of study, but especially about brilliant. it's huge for his career, but he also just likes her! urodelians have two main races, surface and cave, with the latter being less common on their home planet, but significantly more common in space. he's completely blind, but has an incredibly powerful sense of smell and taste, along with a sense for heat and movement. his race evolved to hunt and survive in lightless cavern pools, making them very suited to the darkness of space.

dr. menura, kacatui. the linguistics expert assigned to brilliant's case, currently working on both teaching her the basics of standard (a pidgin developed from the most common urodelian, zygoptid, and kacatui languages) and recording her own. he's very cheerful and friendly, and probably the only person at the lab who's not there with the intent of fucking her (not that he doesn't, of course). kacatui are highly social and have a higher level of language acquisition than any other species, making them the best interpreters.

councilman somato, moctus. a representative of The Council, he's basically a corrupt, spoiled little prince who thinks he should get whatever he wants. think the duke from moulin rouge. he has his mind set on seducing brilliant, the one-of-a-kind human, and has the political power to demand the opportunity. she just thinks he's cute :) his species is, like the absicola, largely aquatic, and requires heavy duty equipment to survive outside water. much of it is made from shed malacos armor, with whom the moctus share a planet and a symbiotic relationship (though it's turned more in favor of the moctus, after first contact was made...)

zeal-and-duty, malacos (warrior caste). he serves as somato's bodyguard, and Would Die For Him, as is his purpose as a warrior. the malacos come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, with bigger being better. a very might-makes-right species and highly spiritual. zeal-and-duty is about the hottest crab possible, with his huge head spikes and big meaty claws. he's interested in brilliant as a conquest, if somato could be convinced to share.
