defeated dryad (+opinion?)

so if you've played the demo, you already know the game is divided into two routes: horny and order. on the order route, the mage is more preoccupied with defeating the monsters and/or getting them off the mountain, as that's what the prudish, sex repressing order would want. my initial plan with the route was that it would be more combat based, and there's no sex in it other than in the dubcon game overs. success in that route would be getting through encounters and not having sex/giving in to horny impulses.

but as i'm working on the dryad encounter and wrapping up the combat section, i'm wondering if that's best? there is an appeal to sexually subjugating/dominating monsters you've defeated, and i wonder if that would be a better angle to take for that side of the game? 

what are your thoughts?

Perhaps a couple of options along the order path could be both? The getting them off the mountain and showing dominance over them. Like if a monster is territorial, if a ghost or demon haunts a particular area, maybe scenes that combine sex with driving them away by either usurping them as the stronger force in the area, combining dom/sub dynamics into exorcisms, or having sex scenes in which Mage is leading the creature into a trap such as presenting themselves to lead the monster to stand at a certain point, and so on? Could also open up the option that if the Mage isn't careful and gets into too many of those dominance scenes or doing certain things in them (like letting themselves get off) they could be locked into a figurative "bad end" where they tested the line too much and realized just how good sex is and end up failing the order in that way.

that's not far off the mark from my initial intentions for it! it feels more thematic and like it has more to say about the nature of this kind of game, but also... am i here to tell a story with themes, or am i here to tell a story where you beat a dryad's ass and make him give you head? much to think about

On further reflection I think part of it is, I was a bit curious where the "vanilla" Order route was going to go! I could envision it being almost tragic -- like, if you get the max score, is the protagonist actually happy with themself? But I'm not sure where you were planning to take it, and perhaps it wasn't actually going to end so grimly.

I kind of like there being a potential divergence in the Order route -- I actually am the opposite of the other person who commented, the Order route was the very first one I did because I enjoy the idea of a protagonist of a horny adventure novel whose entire premise is just steadfastly resisting the horny and how that creates narrative stress over time/creates an interesting tension between the premise of the book and the goals of the protagonist. But having the protagonist get more "creative" with the way they're interpreting the Order's edicts, while also wondering if they're just yielding to the Mountain's spell in a way the Order wouldn't approve of, also sounds pretty fun and hot... aaah I can't decide. My impulse as an author would be to do both and make WAY too much work for myself, but I imagine you probably want to set wiser boundaries for yourself, and I applaud that too!

that sounds more fun to me, i really like the dubcon game overs for that route (would love to see more!) but otherwise i'm in it for the sexy and choosing a lot of options with no sexy is not intuitive for me. having winning over them be dominating the monsters somehow sounds like a good call!

Maybe rather than getting the monsters off the mountain, controlling them for the sake of the “order” would be the end goal? That way mage can dom them while still achieving the goals they were sent for
