After untold eons, the glade is ruined

Hello all, and welcome to our newest borough! Back in January, we had you all vote to select the theme for the newest borough. You opted for "Archfae Court," so that's what we're brining you! Ithivellia is the capital of the fae realm known as the Principality. It is a land of beautiful nature, endless hedonism, and magical trickery. It was a paradise for the archfae and their vassals... that is, until the Mycelial Gate emerged.

We will be releasing Ithivellia in 6 parts, meaning it should take us until mid-April to complete the borough. We've got some incredible content lined up, some stellar secret collabs, and a bewildering quest that will send your party to portals, glamorous balls, raccoon conservatories, overgrown laboratories, and more.

Borough Guide

Our introduction to Ithivellia explains the origins of the mystic capital and its present calamity. One of the six archfae has disappeared, and a giant fungal portal has begun to overwhelm the enchanted glade. Ultimately, the fae must rely on sublunary mortals to assist in retaking their capital. Three envoys bring three magic gifts to entice the party to join them in the glade. All the adventurers have to do is survive a trip through the Mycelial Gate. Then, of course, they must survive the petty politicking of the fae lords and ladies.

Map

The first map of Ithivellia is the "northwest" corner of the glade (note: cardinal direction have no meaning in the fae Principality). This map presents the mycelium encroaching on a cozy autumn afternoon. Beautiful nooks, creeks, and walkways are nestled into the roots of the Dwynlei Oak. Everywhere you look, you'll find another idyllic spot to take a rest... well, aside from in the ominous Mycelial Gate. We will be providing 5 versions of each Ithivellia map: autumn, winter, spring, summer, and misty. The seasons change unexpectedly in Ithivellia, so it's best to have all of the maps at the ready!

Patrons at the Chief Courier tier or higher gain access to two exceedingly pleasant homes lying under the roots of the massive oak. Breakfast nooks, art studios, and water features... what's not to love?

Music

Our first track for Ithivellia is "Through the Mycelial Gate," a pleasant and ethereal track that evokes the magical mystique of entering the fae glade for the first time. This is harmonically rich, emotive string music filled with lightly twinkling bells. There is a hint of intrigue and danger, but mostly: this is music for an idyllic vacation to the fae realm. While your players are actually traveling through the gate, however, you should throw on our "Psigaric" variant, which is appropriately pschedelic.

The Psigaric | Collaboration with The Fluffy Folio

As soon as we planned a fae borough with a heavy emphasis on little mushroom guys, we knew we had to reach out to The Fluffy Folio. He whipped up some incredible art and a quirky statblock for the psigaric, a fungal entity that lives within Ithivellia's overgrown mycelium. This alien critter is the ideal weird little creature to present to players on low-level fae adventures in Ithivellia or beyond.

The Fluffy Folio has a god damn monopoly on weird but cute but creepy but adorable monsters. He creates 5e statblocks, tokens, and monster-themed potions for his supporters. Go show the Fluffy Folio some love on Patreon!
