Hauthell 01 - A Marriage of Families

Beginnings don't get much humbler than this

Welcome to our newest borough everybody! Hauthell is a muddy, rustic, countryside hamlet. It is decidedly intimate and unpretentious in both scale and scope. It is home to farmers with rich inner lives and conflicting desires that will shape the town to come.

Hauthell is unique in our catalog for 3 reasons.

Alright, let's check out this peaceful hamlet!

NOTE: We'll be returning to Elseridge Academy, Meddenfirth, and the LIMINARC in the coming days and weeks. Stay tuned. And don't forget to follow our upcoming Kickstarter for physical Yllmourne media

Borough Guide

Our introductory guide for Hauthell explains the nature of this borough and how it might fit into your campaigns. Notable, this is the first time we've managed to be truly EXHAUSTIVE in terms of NPC descriptions. Every single man, woman, child, ox, and chicken is documented with particularity. We provide a beautiful and comprehensive family tree. There is no such thing as a "minor NPC" in Hauthell. As we progress through time, we will check back in on each of these farmers, their homes, and the hamlet they inhabit.

Maps

Our main map shows off the entirety of Hauthell at the initial start date of this region. it's just 3 houses, a barn, a gathering hall, and some small farm plots. A dirt road leads in and out. And that's it! If you want to tweak this to fit your campaign, we provide 3 season variants (Spring, Autumn, and Winter), 2 weather-specific variants (Rainy and Misty), plus 2 regional variants (Tropical and Lakeside).

By the final release of Hauthell, we ought to have interiors for every single building. For now, we've got Brennis and Lissa's house, the gathering hall, and the barn. It's... rustic—simple even!—although that is likely to change as the years transform Hauthell. Make sure to subscribe to the Chief Courier tier if you want to gain access to all of our map interiors.

Music

Our first track for Hauthell is rustic peasant music. Simple strings and pastoral winds noodle out a simple folk tune. This is music for small villages. Throw it on as your players experience the richness of countryside-living. When night falls, throw on the "Quiet" variant for calmer moods.

Hey guys, when's the next one coming out for this series? :)

Jack Peter

Ahhh jeez, that's an annoying error to make. I'll update the file names and reupload everything. Good catch! Very glad that this fits your next campaign! Cheers!

Borough Bound

Yes it finally happened to me; this is gorgeous and should be absolutely perfect for a campaign I'm about to start. I'm so excited to see where this goes. (Although I would be remiss if I failed to point out that all the maps are marked as 26x40 scale but are actually 26x38, a minor cause of confusion at worst)

Constantly amazed by your guys boroughs, every release is so detailed with so much content. Just started running a campaign where my little couriers are trying to retrieve keys hidden in each of your boroughs to unlock the final door and fight big bad, they’re loving it. Thank you guys for such amazing work
