progress, Finally

nothing especially titillating YET but finally, finally, i'm nearing the finish line with the long road (well. nearing the start of the finish line. lol.) it's in its last round of edits, which means i can confidently start doing some of the illustrations. i usually wait until the text is totally finalized before starting any because even the SLIGHTEST adjustment to the text can knock all the images out of position. but this one has spot illustrations at the top of every 'chapter' which means at the very least i can do four of these even before that's all done.

this one has been a fuckin doozy of an edit. as i've mentioned soooo many times, this is the first book in a year or two that i've been able to actually get edited and god did i need it. i ended up having to rewrite almost every scene and added 6k words but the latest draft is significantly better than what i originally wrote. just needs the final polish. if you're here you're probably already familiar with these characters and this world but if you're into dungeon meshi and discworld i think you will like this one a lot. it's a lot of fun.

anyway in a perfect world i will be opening preorders this friday with a release on the 17th, but i'm going to see where i'm At on friday when i receive final notes. my editor already told me that it'll be a much more straightforward cleanup job this time, so i'm fairly confident it should be fine. but that's my goal! and if i don't put it up for preorder this friday it'll just get pushed a week forward, i can't imagine it will be any later than that.

either way i will be posting the cover here on friday. everyone i've shown it to loved it so i hope you will too >:]
