A little experimental piece, featuring our capybara boyfriend, Cleiton.

This piece is a combination of 2D drawing and 3D modeling. For this drawing I knew I wanted to have Cleiton in the pool, with half his body submerged under the surface with some water distortion effects. But, because drawing water is kinda (*ahem* very) hard, I decided to try using my (10+year old) copy of Cinema 4D to make a neat water effect.

I made my drawing of Cleiton first, and added some lighting/shading, and drew some water caustics for the part of the body that was under the surface. Then, after some 3D modeling in C4D, I added in the drawing, placing it in my pool scene.

For the most part I got the effect I wanted, but it did take some tweaking and re-rendering of the scene a few times (spent all freakin' afternoon messing with it xD). Even added in some floating citrus* for a semi-sfw version too.

(*a common image that pops up when searching for capybaras shows them water / baths with lemons or Yuzu fruits)

In the end though, I think it came out okay. I'll definitely be trying this combination of 2D and 3D again in the future with some newer pieces.
