Not even four minutes in and already appreciating vocabulary choices that make for great double meanings within the story while still being entirely too charming at times. A lot of the best monsters have an aura of sadness behind the savagery, I think. There's a vampire series I've been slowly working on for the last few months which leans heavily into this.
