Game Reviews #3 [Fran Bow, Little Misfortune, Detroit Become Human, Diablo 4]

Fran Bow

Disturbing in a whole lot of ways. Very dark. Deals with a plethora of sensitive topics through the eyes of a child which eases the potency a bit. Played this with NJ and we loved it. A modern, horror Alice in Wonderland. Fucked up. A point & click. Between the two of us, we only used a guide for a handful of puzzles [we make a good team]. The ending of this game can very much be up for interpretation.

Little Misfortune

This was the same creative team behind Fran Bow and you can sure tell. The voice acting is spectacular. We adore this game. Even more fucked up and adorable than Fran. A little less obscure puzzles, as well. So cute and disturbing. If you like weird shit through the eyes of the innocent, pick both titles up. I think this one is pretty special.

Detroit Become Human

Hey look it's Jesse Williams! He's so cute! This game was a lot of fun. It's a branching narrative game with a few quick time actions sprinkled in but what you're getting is an interactive movie [which is great!]. This game is best played blind. As a branching narrative, the game has aged well and your choices have weight. Stressful in a way that really serves the storytelling. Doesn't hurt that I LOVE Clancy Brown in anything too. Sure, the more you delve deep [perhaps] the flaws start to come out, but I think this game does a great job of telling the story is sets out to tell and is worthy of all it's critical acclaim. I fucking love ambitious art and this project has the feel of something daring and that is so rare these days.

Diablo 4

Look, if you want mindless and grindy then go no further. It's fine. Apparently, I started playing at a good time and... sure? Probably best to just watch the campaign online. I have a late-game Sorc and she's a lot of fun [after skipping the campaign] but they ruined my Necro and I am sad about it. I say give your $$ to a company that maybe isn't Blizzard on this one.
