[been a minute since I tried this sans the devil's lettuce - I'd give this a solid 6.5 out of 10 on my personal scale]
Storytime:
One time I was in [part of city] and was stuck waiting for the bus with some asshat named John [John was my friend at the time, I am ashamed to admit]
We were approached by some locals and I was rolling very high on my charisma checks when John suddenly opened his f*&king mouth and shit went south really fast [because John is a stupid asshat, as previously mentioned]
We had heard this group of folx freestyling while we were waiting, so as a ditch effort I asked can we be left alone if we could keep up with them in terms of skill. Now, John [stupid f*&king asshat that he was] could rap quite well. And [at the time] I had been freestyling a lot for work. And so we went back and fourth and what started as a pretty scary run-in predominately lives in my memory under the "fun interactions with strangers" category which is kind of baffling but what can ya do?
I love to freestyle with anyone. Anyone. It almost always ends in failure and I love that. You go til you can't or you put a sloppy bow on something so imperfect and ephemeral that it will always be [wrongly] remembered as incredible. What a thing to do.
I don't really remember what we rapped about but I know I had a line about Captain Crunch in there and we went on a whole Breakfast Mascot run - it was fun. We caught the bus and went home and I don't see John anymore because he is a fucking asshat but all's well that ends with me doing audioporn
