2024-12-11 02:57:05 +0000 UTCIβve had a few times when everything fell into place, almost felt too easy. I like to think of it as the universe letting you know that youβre on the right path.

2024-12-11 00:44:33 +0000 UTCI've learned to adore any story that Doc shares with us! Thank you for continuing to be so open with us! We love your stories Doc! If I remember correctly, I can briefly recall you mentioning Tony in one of your past stories with NJ too! Sometimes you just gotta trust your gut and take that leap of chance! I'm very glad that you did/have! Thanks for sharing Doc! π

2024-12-10 15:02:13 +0000 UTCThis feels so relevant. There's a quote I read recently that I am blanking on completely but it was kind of along the lines of "Do it scared" which has really altered how I look at opportunities and how I do my best not to sabotage my own dreams. I tell myself that the desire, the goal, whatever, has to be more important than the temporary discomfort I'll feel doing something new or unfamiliar. These days I am trying to get back into acting. I felt I had to put it aside for a long time because of the quarantine, because I felt unsupported, because I kept trying to please others, I had no money to move anywhere important, and no real resources or outlets to bide my time [in my city] until I could move. I had alot of fears that kept me from trying. But I realize I have to be the one to make it happen if it's truly what I want, despite fears and challenges. I appreciate the sentiment because it reminds me to embrace the fear. My voice teacher woukd often say "Fall into chaos" and it's the same. β¨οΈ

2024-12-10 06:31:21 +0000 UTCThis story βΊοΈ and a valuable lesson. Whatβs for you wonβt pass you, so why not embrace it sooner if the chance presents itself? And that new couch feeling is the best! Coming out of pocket for my first one a few years ago included a lot of cuss words (bc hello $$$! Why are they so expensive?!) but I love that thing. I also love learning words like this π Itβs always interesting how cross-culturally there are idioms that add emphasis to things.

2024-12-10 04:32:56 +0000 UTCYou're so friggin precious I stg Echoing others' sentiments: I would a hundred million percent listen to you ramble about a cat you met on a walk or parking lot tamales or a trip to the hardware store tbh, as long as there are tangents and giggles (also that moral is true as hell... At 51 I left a job I'd been at for 14 years and started a new one. TERRIFYING. But I grabbed hold of it and did the thing, and I'm much happier for it. Plus I know now that I can do it, so if I want to do it again, I can! Worth every minute of terror.)

2024-12-10 01:31:38 +0000 UTCI'd not heard chooch before, but when I heard your story, I couldn't stop thinking about "cwtch". Cwtch (pronounced 'kutch') has no literal English translation, but is both an emotionally significant embrace and an intrinsically Welsh word that evokes a sense of home. Anyone in need of a good cwtch should treat themselves to watching Gavin & Stacey (co-written by James Corden).
