Prompt 42 [5 is next]

Added some missing [Prompt] posts to our lil' collection - should be complete now.

[I'll try and squeeze one more unboxing in before 2025]

Also if you're a parent - way to go. I don't understand how y'all get anything done in a day and I never will. Magic women, y'all are.

Ahh welcome back to Jersey, Caro. The “donate” pile is a tough one, hope you’re ok. (Your parents too) Thank you for sharing this treasure. The treasure found in your parents full home and your words. ❤️

Well, it’s balmy this Monday after a Jersey Christmas in white And these boots made for walkin’ are muddied with plight My arms older and stronger carry childhood over thresholds In boxes labelled “thrift” “donate” “sell” like address codes Now the shed in the woods has room for another’s tread And the old green truck is filled with memory’s deathbed Home for the holidays but clearing out parts of home All conundrum and then some, as age and ache roam A battle of Yesses and Noes, the dreaded Maybe pile “Could you use this at yours?” an everyday trial I love these collections of reflection, connection, affection But sometimes sorting Life feels like fighting infection I moved abroad for more schoolin’ and stayed there for more “more” But this little ol’ house of my people still brings warmth to my core And it’s weird to let go of/pack up/give ’way this homeplace safety net When the one I built in my city is with shattering holes lately met Been riding it out through this dreary December With painted face, liar’s smile, “all good,” I defend her The woman, me, my mind full of queen-less bees Directionless, falling, no one and too many to please They say it’s a tapestry, this funny ol’ life we build But can a tapestry love you back, even if so willed? I’m facing the face of unpredictable futures Trying my hardest as change seam-rips my sutures But the beauty of helping my folks as they feel their life getting smaller Is seeing how very big their lives have been and are, with these eyes of a daughter Sunlight still touches emptied rooms, our older hearts, heads, and hands And this kind of lucky love is woven out of that mighty stuff that withstands
