The Switchy Fireman

I can't tell you how great it was to have a script in the middle of doing Cameos :)

This one was... easy. Not difficulty, per say [trust me, from an actor 'easy' is a strong compliment] but the believability was just... there. Nice and smooth.

I used to love getting my blood pressure taken. That puffy arm thing with the air. It's so fun. I feel like I'm on a spaceship.

One time I was doing a show in a small town in [redacted] and it was the 4th of July. I was having car trouble and was told one of the 4 cops could help. I went to the station before the firework show and no one was there. I tried the fire department too. Nothing. But I remember the hum of the station. Talk about feeling like you were on a spaceship. i remember the echo when I called out for someone. Growing up where I did, this was on the level of Twilight Zone weirdness. Main street was dead [and it was the only street around capable of any life] so i did what any actor would do. I stole some beer from the cops fridge and went to see the fireworks.

Turns out the cops were busy berating a 12 year old for stealing one of their vehicles during the celebration.

I knew this guy [Lou] who was a fireman. We went to high school together and I was shocked when he wound up being in the very first voiceover class I took. He was the only guy I knew growing up with a deeper sound than myself. He sounded like how giants do in fantasy movies. Lou couldn't act, which was a damn shame, but could he rumble.

He loved his life so much. One day after class, he was smoking a cigarette trying to look up the most efficient route to get condoms on his way to one of several dates that weekend.

"It's all about safety, bro. If you're gonna do it like that you gotta be safe, man"

said the Jolly Hot Giant

The next week he looked a little gaunt but he was happy

"It's all about water, man. Water puts out the fire and keeps ya hydrated. I went through that whole pack but not enough water, man"

[Lou] was a treasure
