Lore - Supernatural Teeth

Findings by Fredrick Wilson, a very very eccentric man.

On Mermaids and Sirens ...

Seeing that a siren is the offspring of a vampire and mermaid, I had believed that the teeth would be a combination of both. In fact, it has far more similarities to the mermaid and less of its vampiric parent. The bottom is much shorter than a mermaid's and thinner but also sharper. The upper row of teeth has more fang-like qualities. After reviewing both sets of teeth, it leads me to believe that while a mermaid's teeth seem able to eat a variety of diets, a siren's strictly lean more towards the carnivorous lifestyle. This would also line up with the information regarding their voracious appetites.

On Werewolves ...

Regarding the werewolves, where does one even start? It is abundantly clear the differences between a full-blood werewolf and a turned one. A turned werewolf sees only minimal change regarding teeth. I can only imagine that such a process leaves a jaw in pain for a few weeks. I must admit that I find myself curious to see this transition in action. A full-blood's mouth is made to fit such teeth. The spacing is more prominent, and the mouth actually possesses pockets for the teeth when a mouth is closed. This cannot be said about a turned as this is a human mouth, converted to maintain sharper canines. Obviously, it does work, but I am highly invested in seeing this process for myself.

On Vampires ...

Imagine my expression when I finally found myself viewing the teeth of a full-blood vampire. I have always been fascinated with vampires' teeth, perhaps a symptom of media and its own allure to the creatures. Teeth, powerful enough to rip through flesh and do so delicately if the individual wishes. Well, that's concerning a turned vampire's teeth. A full-blood's teeth were created to puncture and tear, to do whatever it can to immobilize their prey. Whereas a turned vampire has abilities that allow them to overwhelm their target and crush its will, a full-blood's teeth actually have paralyzing venom. It is very much similar to a viperids snake venom gland. Long, retractable, and venom spread through tissue. The remaining teeth are meant to rip through flesh as the vampire sees fit. They can either carefully feed using only the incisor fangs or utilize all teeth to grasp and tear. Makes for a very messy kill, I say.

On Vaewolf ...

In all respects, a vaewolf should live the rest of its days with an ill attitude due to how its mouth is now formed. A werewolf's mouth is no place for fangs due to the closeness and compactness needed. Though I have gotten my hands on some, for me to truly study this hybrid species, I will need to talk to one. It is a shame that they are hunted so actively. Even with retractable fangs, these teeth have to hurt. Moving on from even that, a vaewolf eating has to be as messy as a full-blood vampire. Canines meant for ripping yet fangs meant for delicate piercing. I suppose training and mastery will help, but it is still a wonder.

On Fae ...

The first time I saw a set of fae teeth, I was sure that it simply belonged to an adolescent siren. But upon closer inspection, one can begin to find the differences. The upper row of teeth is shorter and thinner. While the bottom row does not hold the same curve as a siren's. If I'm frank, I don't understand why a fae's teeth look like such unless the land they hail from has very rough fruit. Fae are known to be vegetarians, with only a few races eating meat. So, should they not have more herbivore-like teeth? At the very least, teeth resembling the build of an omnivore? Everything about their teeth screams carnivorous. Sadly, I doubt I will figure this mystery out as quickly as others. I am an only child and the wild ways of fae will surely trap me.
