Thank you for this. I teared up when you were talking about it being ok to grieve things turning out differently than you imagined. I feel like younger me was so aggressive about "being totally fine with this new unexpected direction, yes it's actually worked out for the best, I don't think I actually wanted that dream anyway, haha isn't life amazing how it turns out for the best, look at me enjoying the journey, look, I'm smiling!!!!" But lately I'm starting to allow myself to grieve the things I did want to happen that didn't. It doesn't mean I'm not happy, but it feels good to allow myself to feel my feelings. 💜

2025-06-23 06:52:36 +0000 UTCOh boy. I definitely have mourned what could have been. Chronic illness takes away everything you wanted and shoves you into places that are awful. The goals you once have are gone and in a way that will never be. I understand that better than most. But it is sad to let go of anything in life you wanted. Definitely grieve what you wanted but also feel good about where you are!
