when they were hitting the wall with their swords..it reminded of the zelda games where you poke the wall with your sword checking for a hollow spot.

Yay the sound is so much better!! Excellent job getting it all figured out. 🙌

SHINZO WO SASAGEYO ( Shin- Zow- sa-sa - gay -oh)) means "dedicate your heart". its one of Erwins most famous sayings... if you say this in public, AOT fans will, without a doubt, do a scout salute(I've tried it..lol)... and GAMBARE( Gam- ba- ray) means "do your best", but its more similar to saying "good luck".. you will hear this saying in a lot of anime. i appreciate your kindness to my struggles.. random info : One piece was top anime EVERY YEAR since it started. When this season for AOT came out, it was the first anime to NEARLY top one piece in 20 years.

Great reaction. I love the discussions as you both try to figure out the overall big picture. That being said, in case you didn’t notice in episode 13 the black liquid Armin found was actually coffee. It appears they don't know/have access to coffee behind the walls. So that's why Armin was confused about it and referred to it as "black tea”. Also I think those Scouts that questioned Armin about searching the wall may not be fully aware that it's possible for someone to even hide in the walls. Remember the discovery of that Titan in the wall was pretty much covered up by the military until the wall mysteriously patched itself up. And the only other time the Scouts looked for holes in the wall was back in Season 2. However back then they weren't able to find any holes. As for Erwin in episode 14...I don't know if you both remember but the man in the flashback was his father. His father was a school teacher. His father also had a theory that humanity might of existed outside the walls and so he believed the history books they were given were not telling the whole truth. However his dad "disappeared" (he was actually arrested and tortured to death by the interior police) when kid Erwin told his classmate's about his dad's theory. So the reason why Erwin wants to go to the basement is because he is obsessed with his father's theory. He believes that whatever is in the basement will validate that theory and absolve him of the guilt he's been carrying all this time in regards to viewing himself as the cause of his father's death. Furthermore he does carry a bit of guilt about "using" the Scouts with his “gambles” to pursue that goal because it has been his major driving motivator...proving his dad was right. That's why he sees himself as standing on a mountain of corpses to achieve that goal and why he backs Eren up so strongly and why he also wants to go to the basement. Lastly, if you guys do the English version and find the change in voice actors too jarring it's okay to just stick with the Japanese dub. Both of you have been doing a great job keeping up with the story in my opinion. But I’m willing to roll with whatever choice you both decide is the best.

Another great reaction!! I want to thank you guys for considering my request, I absolutely would recommend you watch 53,54,55 in one reaction video I PROMISE you it’s so worth it. As far as watching the dub, I think it’s great! I enjoy both versions and you really can’t go wrong. The voice acting is great for both dub and subbed. You’ll definitely pick up and understand more in the dub. You guys are absolutely right about the writing, it’s so damn good! And this is just the tip of the iceberg, it only gets better!

Please give more English dubs a chance! You’re going to always get people against it but I think it’s worth it.

Hang in there!!—that’s the exact mentality to have for AOT. 😘💕 You’re far enough now to realize this show purposely leaves you in the dark & confused, but will answer all your questions in due time. I feel like the method to reveal info mimics the level of understanding the characters themselves have about the realities & falsehoods regarding this world. And that helps the audience better understand the differing thoughts & motivations of these characters as the story unfolds. I don’t wanna spoil anything that’s in S4, but the transfer of titan powers is more specific than just eating another titan with special powers. You might piece together a theory with the clues you have so far: titans can steal special titan powers by eating that titan, the liquid in the syringe from Rod Reiss can turn a person into a titan, killing a titan requires severing only at the nape, & your most recent clue involves how Reiner avoided death when Levi pierced the sword thru his neck.🧐😉

Please don’t do it in English 😭. In the next few episodes, the Japanese voice actors are going to go crazy. The reason season 3 and later season 4 will feel like you’re watching peak fiction is thanks to seasons 1 and 2. It might not be apparent at first, but the main purpose of the first two seasons is to world-build and set up the story for the later seasons.

“Gambare” is pronounced “gahm-bah-ray” & it means “do your best”!

storitella

😂 The author is actually Hajime Isayama. AOT is his first & only manga series—Quite impressive!!

storitella

Shinzou Sasageyo is what the Survey Corps says, especially Erwin (though don't remember if other branches of the military also says it...) means to give your hearts or dedicate yourself

Oh man, glad to be part of your AOT journey up to this point! Such a great story!
