One Piece ep 403/404/405 | HOLY SH!T 😢😢❤️❤️

If you think about it what stopped the Straw Hats from running away was exactly their friendship and loyalty to each other. Some of them had the chance to escape if they just left the other behind, but they preferred to try to protect the ones that were down.

Arthur Lima

No matter how many times I rewatch OP and these episodes, I will always cry and breakdown, it hits you in the feels, in the gut hearing the Actors and their characters break with calling each others names for help and being helpless in saving each other. And the Bubbles referencing the bubbles with the Straw Hat crew and the music going quiet for the bubbles to pop.

PegasusDragon

What I thought was amazing was how Oda used the bubbles to symbolize Luffy and his friends. The more infamous they became, the more they gained the Marines attention until just like the bubbles, they went too high up that they couldn't make it and popped.

Nea Kaleios

Moria Foreshadowed this in Thriller Bark, was telling Luffy that the world is designed to crush Pirates and that he would loose all his crew like Moria did.

Cheddah Slammer

Ehh the next mini arc is ok but the next one after really bogged it down for me didn't like it until the finale main arc.

erueka6

Jason is super spot on about the VAs at this part, Luffy's VA Mayumi Tanaka doesn't get enough credit sometimes for how incredible of a VA she is

Christopher LoBosco Jr.

Jason, the sumo wrestler in the Street Fighter games is E. Honda.😜

storitella

From 'nothing happened' to 'everything happened' 😅

Yeah this still is my favorite arc, the crisply animation for those last two episodes and the use of the bubbles were perfect.

Freshingredient

Hey this was brought to my attention, and I agree that this is in spoiler territory. Please edit or remove. Thank you!

i just rewatch this reaction it’s so good this is a moment is one of one piece most historic moments it’s the first time luffy felt like he wasn’t strong enough the first time luffy told his crew to run because they couldn’t win but this is just the beginning prepare yourself

smileyface

Water7 was a taste of reality then Sabaody slapped us lol

Regie Khemvisay

Right? Three times before he defeated Crocodile. Twice with Cp9 n Eneru, n just never gives up. He keeps getting back up n trying again. Ughh I love OP n Luffy is my hero. I don’t need Superman lol

Regie Khemvisay

Same! Def bcoz they know there’s so much more to come

Regie Khemvisay

It wouldnt be OP without fun adventures tho. Just stakes higher

Regie Khemvisay

Hi Josh, welcome!

Regie Khemvisay

Yeah, they just bicker just to bicker but love n respect without saying them

Regie Khemvisay

Agree!

Adam V.

I haven’t seen it, would love to watch with u guys

Regie Khemvisay

OP is both therapy and mental breakdown lol damm Luffy at the end banging his head hurts so bad . Honestly u guys are right, those who tried and was not able to resonate with OP all the way has more roads to take for them to find the real One Piece. It might not just be right now, but at some point or different media, everyone’s lives gotta be touched by OP

Regie Khemvisay

It's so hard to see Luffy breakdown like that. 😭

Jade

We've seen Luffy and his crew push their limits with each new arc. After Water 7, they even fought seemingly the impossible. Every arc brought miracles, and their determination and strength kept growing. We always believed Luffy would pull through and win in the end. But this time, it was different. Not only were the Straw Hats completely defeated, but it felt like we were too. They seemed almost invincible, and it was a hard lesson in how life can hit you with tough times to make you stronger. I’d gone through a long, tough period, and it was rough. New fans have it a bit easier, in a way. They have thousands of episodes ahead, knowing that there’re still a lot of stories left and that everything will eventually be okay. Back then, though, I was just as worried and down as the characters in the story. It was a real rollercoaster!

theshittycook

Remember Moria’s final words to Luffy? Go to the New World the land of true nightmares. They couldn’t even make it to the front gate before facing pure defeat.

Fold

Luffy hit a wall for the first time in the show. These episodes are so emotional and I like how the tension builds up, especially how the bubbles were used everytime a nakama disappeared, what gets me is how Nami was about to say "help me" making a call back to Arlong Park, but dissapearing before she could even finish her sentence :( . I loved how you came up with theories about where they were sent, which we will see in due time. Now, I have mentioned that Water Seven/Enies Lobby are my personal favorites for what they meant to me at the time, but the next episodes are going to be amazing, and what many consider to be one of the peaks of One Piece (and probably of recent fiction). Can't wait to see your faces. :)

Potzi

I was waiting the whole morning for upload and it’s already uploaded ahahaha, where was my notification goshdarnnit

Regie Khemvisay

Space dandy is freaking hilarious. You absolutely have to do a reaction to it! 😂

vlikes

That! And this is when you realise the beef between Sanji and Zoro is anything but deep.

Lucia Petrozzi

As much as you love one piece, its only half as much as you'll love it when you reach the episodes in the 1000s!

Jake Belcastro

And there's your thriller bark pay off Moria was not wrong.

erueka6

And here it starts Luffy’s major character development… Without episode 405 we wouldn’t have the next 800 episodes. After watching Anime for a while you get use that when the main character is at his worst he develops a super power or something to get himself out of trouble in that moment. This episode of One Piece was the first time it didn’t happen, and was shocking. However, what makes it beautiful is that it feels real. In real life, when you are down, there is no super power coming to pick you up. It’s your own will and strength you have to count on…and time I guess. I think at least once we felt like Luffy, and that’s why we are able to connect with him and the straw hats. However, how beautiful our crew was as they helped each other trying to survive despite knowing how desperate the situation was. The image of Sanji just grabbing Kuma’s leg to stop him, as he couldn’t do more than that, will always be stuck in my head. So exited for what’s next…

BashaM

What a great comment Alisson! Yes, I kept thinking about Kuma and Rayleigh too but I was also too shocked to think clearly, so I was drawing blanks 😅

Lucia Petrozzi

I know a few people who did the same. I was even more eager to continue instead!

Lucia Petrozzi

This arc just hits like a freight train that you don’t see coming. So much just HAPPENS with no time to think, and then you’re hit with the sudden “game over”. Can’t wait for you guys to catch up! There’s so much more to happen.

Isaac Ahlquist

Great way to put it! Could not agree more!

Lucia Petrozzi

The thing that blows my mind, is that a show can go for 400…600…1000 episodes. And STILL find new ways to move you, to make you feel something new, and touch your heart in ways you didn’t expect. Also fun fact trafalgar law is the same voice actor as Levi Ackerman in AOT. Much love to the d-clan from a newer nakama:)

Josh Stewart

This is the first time you see Luffy completely powerless. I think the lesson here is more about mentality than Luffy needing to level up. Luffy has been very childish and carefree this whole time, but it was fine since he could just brute-force his way out of trouble. This right here is a reality check. It's Oda telling you that the New World is going to be serious. No more fun pirate adventures; we are going to the playoffs for the One Piece now.

Zanetti

Great reaction... when i first watched this, i quit..lol.. my brother said "keep watching" and i was like "nahh im done with one piece"...lol... my brother had to spoil me of what's to come in order for me to start the next arc.

Oba D. Kux

These are some of my favorite One Piece episodes of the whole series. And now you see why Sabaody Archipelago is such a fan favorite arc. As well as the next 130 or so episodes.

LoneCourier21

I’m sure I’m not the first to say this but the next 100 episodes are about to elevate this show even more so if y’all already love it now……just wait

Sean Bey0nd

You guys were so much calmer than I was watching this. I felt like Luffy at the end of these episodes, just helpless and defeated

Dylan Drozeski

Remember watching these episodes back when I was still a spring- chicken, growing some feathers after highschool... This episode hit hard back then ( was so scared for the straw hats) and all these years afterwards, still makes me sad see Luffy in pain, but as you two mentioned, there's definitely a takeaway from this situation. Great reaction to these episodes!

Cats4Eva

These episodes break me every time. It was the first time I saw Luffy realise they are not strong enough and tell his crew to retreat. In that moment I knew something wasn't right. And Luffy's suffering when he understands that all is gone, his friends and found family is gone, and that he could not protect them....chills 😭 This show is so different from the others, where the main characters always end on top. I knew that quite early in, with Luffy's defeat by Crocodile in Alabasta. But this...this changes everything. This left me speechless and numb. Lots of love to you guys, I know it will be hard to wait for the next batch of episodes. ❤️

Lucia Petrozzi

That's the turning point of one piece

Animeter

love that you guys were still able to think logically at the end because when I first watched this, i kept thinking the same thing. i had a hunch that kuma was helping them in some ways that i couldn’t figure out. everyone’s emotional during that scene but that thing with rayleigh and kuma kept bothering me. still, when luffy fell on the ground with his knees, i couldn’t help but cry as well 😆 some people said it at Water 7 and Enies Lobby, but I believe Sabaody’s where things truly took a sharp turn. It definitely is not the peak, but it is the catalyst. It’s such a perfect arc for me because it introduced many relevant characters, had a nice pacing, and showed how deep the lore is. also, you guys are right cause this was the point where i started binge watching it cause i can’t get enough

Alisson

Sabaody is such an amazing mini arc, from the dark themes, the lore and then the crazy ending? Chills

Super Novice

The episodes that changed one piece forever

Ian

It's a dandy time

Adam V.

I just watched Space Dandy for the first time! It was such a delightful show. One of the more just pure fun animes I've seen.

Dylan Drozeski

Yooo picking up on those star wars notes was crazy haha

KevUrb

Space Dandy is like One piece meets Deadpool. If you think you see a reference you probably do. Each episode had different guest directors or animators and the music is amazing. The intro/outro is spoiler free, some are even unique to the episode.
