This is the episodes that it hit's you that this will not be easy at all! Granted we knew it wouldn't be easy to break in, get Ace and get out. But We fully comprehend that how can you take on Magellan and not get poisoned? Bon Clay running off had me in tears with him. As he's been 1 to 2 years in Impel Down and to I assume Magellan is the big Evil to him and to go against that main fear would be hard for him to do. As he ruled by Terror alone of you do this either way I have the right and power to kill anyone he wishes to to death! Buckle your seat belts this is a ride no matter how many times I've seen this arc the ride of emotions still hits has hard as it did when I first arrived here a couple of years ago.

In an ideal world, ex prisoners would get out of jail knowing there's an honest job waiting for them and that the stigma would not follow them once they get out. In reality, they know the world outside is still the same and they have no support system in place, therefore many go back to old habits. Of course we are talking about a certain category of offenders and not all of them. Some deserve to spend their lives in prison and never get out.

However in the fight they show that Magellan can even just corrode the walls with his poison, so even if Luffy hit him with that giant hanging spiked platform, Magellan would just end up corroding through it.

In fact many get out because people think their rehabilitated, and they just go back to their usual schemes. Not to mention that many people might not want certain people to get out of jail, even if they are rehabilitated, just in case they go back.

It's part of the reason I love one piece, you don't win just because you decide you want to win. Each and every person is strong, and each person has to work to become stronger while we get to watch.

We talked about the right that prisoners have to get an education while in prison, as well as basic rights. And also about the fact that the main objective of a prison should be to reform criminals so they can become functional parts of our society once they are freed. That's so much that can be said about this subject. Like the fact that death row is not working as a deterrent for crimes or that minor crimes should be addressed differently as prisons can become overcrowded, putting a strain on public funding. There should be a balance between human rights and just punishment.

Or he would have joined the marines, like Koby. He wants to free Ace and it doesn't matter to him if in the process he frees some prisoners or if he gets help from his past enemies which are also criminals.
