Yes, it was my first time watching DS. You are correct in saying that S1 was building up on the story. It's the same for all anime. Still, some seasons or episodes are more enjoyable than others, it's not a comparison, it's a statement of a preference.

Oh well just going to the movie, it's enough I know you seen it so I know you have little bit more Rengoku's character down before you watched this. Know you guys will suffer at the end, but that is what makes the movie great =)

Points from me on this first watch: -everything Esteban said, including the part with the kid in Tanjiro's inner core; -Loved to see Inosuke's growth in this movie and Zenitsu's awesome power; -the animation is great and the backgrounds are stunning; -I liked Rengoku's character and I was shocked to see him gone so soon. His death reminded me of Akainu/Ace and the fact he did not fold down after he was dead, even had a bit of Whitebeard's death in it. You can definitely see the love that the mangaka has for OP; -Tenjiro slicing his head off every time Azaka would put him into the dream world was peak! -also, it was great seeing Tenjiro getting really pissed off twice during the movie as sometimes it feels like he is too nice, to the point of not being relatable. I appreciate characters with flaws much more, as I feel more connected, so I think this is the one criticism I have. All in all, I loved the movie and I can see this being the setup for a training arc or some sort of levelling up for the MC.

This animation is soo good that feel almost that you are watching photos of the real world, i wish every anime was so good at the animation as this one.

2024-12-05 20:36:36 +0000 UTCRengoku!!! Oh, I love his character for so many reasons. His empathetic nature is unique and different from Tanjiro's. His sense of justice and duty drives him and makes him stronger. He kind of remind me of Erwin a little bit with that. He is easily a fan favorite, and it is so sad to see him go. Like Heather said, we need more empathetic in the world. I like to think that good people usually die because God, creator, Universe, whatever has bigger and better things for them to do. and the bad, evil, or just fear driven people still need time to grow into their potential. So fortunately, and/or unfortunately, they live to see another day. Can't wait to see more reactions! Have a great day.

2024-12-05 19:02:23 +0000 UTCSET YOUR HEART ABLAZE!!! 🔥🔥🔥 This arc definitely serves as motivation for the boys to get stronger, after the loss of rengoku and seeing how much more training they need to fight the upper ranks, who are on another level compared to the lower ranks of the 12 kizuki. Also, those 40 missing people were missing before Rengoku was assigned the mission. When the Master said none of the 200 people lost their lives, it was the 200 people that were on the train at that time that he was there Akaza (upper 3) has the sickest theme IMO Also, you can tell how much inosuke has totally changed 😜 Now we onto my personal favorite arc of demon slayer, the entertainment district arc!!!!!!

2024-12-05 16:34:25 +0000 UTCThe Mugen train movie was so emotional to watch. The whole movie is incredible from the start, to the tragic ending (RIP Rengoku). Truly an emotional roller coaster watching this. It’s a horrible feeling to instantly love a character so much and in such a short time have to see them killed. Although he’s gone, he’ll never be forgotten. His impact will definitely be seen throughout the anime. This movie truly shows the gravity and peril in the demon slayer world. Rengoku definitely became one of my favorite characters in demon slayer for obvious reasons, from his backstory to his absolute bad ass techniques and swordsmanship. But who he is as a person and a leader and what he represents in demon slayer is what really makes him special. He truly gave his all!And ultimately his life to protect and save everyone and had no second thought in doing so. He fought a top 3 demon in Akaza and held his own. Like Tanjiro said, Rengoku was the true winner of this fight, Akaza was just the coward who managed to get away. Rengoku’s death is very heartbreaking, I still cry every time watching this, just like pretty much everyone else does. On a lighter note one part of the movie I thought was a beautiful moment, was when the kid that entered Tanjiro’s spiritual core and saw for himself just how beautiful and pure Tanjiro’s soul is, The fact that Tanjiro’s purity was enough to change that kid and bring light into his heart speaks volumes about Tanjiro and how special he really is. That moment instantly brought me to tears. It was such a beautiful moment. Jason and Heather, I can’t wait for you guys to start the entertainment district arc. Demon slayer is so great! So much more to come. Love you guys.

I now understand the reason why this movie is greatest of all time because its actually part of the anime storyline. Often, movies are non canon and doesnt happen in the series, but this one is different. Ive gone to theatres to watch anime movies but not like this. Mugen Train had so much heart, and emotionally damaged me. When I watched this in the theatre, damm was not expecting for a death either. I cried so hard. Thank you Rengoku-san!! If the movie had amazing action, Season 2 is better. cant wait! and Feel Better Heather, dont forget to self care! Love you

But upper demons are difficult to beat and this movie really wanted to showcase that while also showing how amazing rengoku was. And yes season 2 is better and a lot of people’s favorite season in demon slayer as a whole. Can’t wait for your reaction to that season as well!!!
