2025-04-24 19:55:02 +0000 UTCYou guys are slowly getting to the nitty gritty. I can’t wait until we get to multiple moments in this arc. But dressrosa has over 100 episodes so we’re in for a ride. But it wouldn’t be a one piece arc if there is no running around for 10ish episodes. Now we just sit and wait. It’s actually crazy because the anime has more episodes than the manga chapters for this arc. Dressrosa was completed in 102 chapters in the manga while the anime has 117 episodes for this arc and there are no filler episodes either. Just how animation studios can cut a lot of scenes from the manga like how a lot of people mentioned with solo leveling, they can also add scenes that weren’t originally in the manga making it a “anime original” scene. They did a lot of this in the current one piece arc that’s airing right now as well. The studio has to fill out some things that Oda didn’t care to explain/put in the manga. This happens a lot with the anime production process. Studios can add/change the way things play out. In some cases it’s really good but sometimes animation studios have ruined anime’s by changing too many things from the manga. Little fun fact for Jason and heather but also I just went on a little rant lol.

If Luffy represents the values of freedom, love and friendship, Doflamingo is his polar opposite; he represents oppression, fear, and manipulation. If Luffy gets to know someone's weakness he will compensate for that and protect the oppressed, if Doflamingo does, he would exploit such weakness and use it against them; Luffy fights for his friends because he loves them and wants them to achieve their dreams, Doflamingo fights for his subordinates because they're his possessions and doesn't want anyone interfiering with his ambitions. If Luffy's greatest power is bringing the people around him to his cause, Doflamingo's greatest power is using his silver tongue to control those around him to impose his ideals. It's the classical debate about whether it is better to be loved or feared. There are many villains in One Piece, but no one is as suffocating as Doflamingo.
