Why is the season finale locked for this tier? It means im just not gonna watch that, and makes it not very encouraging to watch the journey with you guys because I know I will miss out on the end. I don't get that

We also get introduced to a new character, Stark. He seems like a really cool character. Im definitely enjoying this anime so far, it’s been a great watch. Can’t wait for more!

He wasn’t trying to be selfish, it was more “well how about we turn this into a lesson, let’s teach the demon right from wrong”, but just backfired heavily. It was definitely insensitive of him, but I think he wanted the villagers to be the bigger people. But the problem was his ignorance in thinking the demon was a beast that could be tamed simply because it could use human language, when in fact demons are predators incapable of feeling human emotions such as empathy.

2025-05-13 20:27:37 +0000 UTCHow selfish was it that the village chief took the demon child in just moments after the demon ate that couple’s child. The parents literally saw it happen and he still proposed the idea like it was no big deal. Sometimes people try to play hero but don’t realize they’re actually playing the villain. For the YouTube short clip recommendation I would say the part where one of the demons can to the prison and killed the guard and confronted frieren. You guys will have a lot of moments to choose for the YouTube shorts in the next couple of episodes. I can’t wait to see your reaction to what’s going to happen next.

I love how he was always capable of defeating the dragon all those years, and even the dragon knew it, but Stark needed to have the resolve first in order to actually do it. Also, how interesting is the definition of a demon as a beast using words to deceive instead of understanding? As Jason said, I wouldn't call people who do that a demon, but it makes you think... I love how you are enjoying all the lore and storytelling of this show, I wouldn't call it a slow burn, but it is very different from a show like Demon Slayer or Attack on Titan which might focus more in the action and fights than the relationships and ideals of the characters.

Also while there is only one season right now the next season is scheduled to premiere sometime in January of next year. So you guys will be caught up and ready to dive into the second season when it comes out.

His reaction to Frieren saying she’s probably the only person alive who still remembers her face brings home that Frieren must be so lonely living such a long life, that everyone she’s ever known has probably died and she’s the last one left. It also really explains Himmel’s actions with Frieren, like when he wanted statues of the group made so Frieren wouldn’t be alone in the future. Again, the storytelling in this show is so good! So many subtleties really carry the themes throughout the journey ❤️
