First, I would like to congratulate you both Jason and Heather for your major milestone of 50 thousand YouTube subscribers. That’s an incredible accomplishment, and you two absolutely earned and deserve it. I wish you guys nothing but continued success and greater things to come for you both. I first found you guys through YouTube when you started reaction videos to my favorite Anime Attack On Titan , within a few reaction videos that I saw of you two , I knew guys were special and wanted to join your Patreon family to experience your journey into anime. That’s what brought me here, but the connection between you both and the community here and the positive atmosphere is what keeps me here. So thank you Jason and Heather for all that you do for us. Also April marked my one year anniversary of when I joined you guys here on Patreon and I’m definitely one of your older members here for sure lol, I’ll be 39 in June. Lastly, Frieren just keeps getting better and better. I’m so impressed with the writing and animation and music, it all comes together perfectly. Definitely excited to see what’s to come. Jason and Heather, you guys are the best! Love you guys!

The fact that every newly introduced character makes you think "I wish he could join the group", speaks volumes about how well the characters are written, even the ones we know almost nothing about and that are secondary to the main story.

This show just feels like a deep breath. On paper, it’s labeled as a shonen (same category as One Piece), meaning it’s aimed at teen boys. But honestly, it doesn’t really fit that category. The tone is quieter, the themes are more mature, and the pacing is much slower than what you’d expect from the typical action-heavy genre. Yet somehow, it never actually feels slow. That alone is such a brilliant achievement. The more I watch the show, the more I realize what I love most is how it lets scenes breathe. It doesn’t rush to the next moment. It gives characters the space to just exist and allows emotions to sink in without over-explaining anything. That kind of storytelling is rare in anime. I’ve seen glimpses of it in One Piece, but because Frieren is a shorter series, it has more freedom to lean into those quiet, reflective moments. It’s refreshing to see a show where sometimes, nothing happening says more than a lot of things happening. There’s so much fluidity in this show. Everything just comes together, the writing, the worldbuilding, the animation, the music, the voice acting. It all flows so naturally that it’s hard to find a weak link. Some of the quietest stories end up leaving the strongest impact, and Frieren delivers that feeling again and again. On a side note, I’ve heard a lot of people say that Violet Evergarden gives off a similar vibe to Frieren. It’s only 13 episodes too, so if y’all decide to give it a shot and knock it off your watchlist, I’ll be watching it for the first time right along with you :)

This anime is just beautiful. Every episode is like putting on a warm blanket on a cold night. And I agree with Jason, every episode feels like watching a movie, even if there is no action in the episode, the story is so good that you never lose interest. I'm glad you guys decided to start your anime journey, there's many more stories out there I'm sure you're gonna come to love.

Ep 18 and after are peak and are one of my favorite parts of Frieren.

You guys are gonna love episodes 14,15, and 16 so many wonderful and beautiful episodes back to back. I’m a huge lover of love. And rewatching frieren with you guys makes me fall in love with this anime even more and makes me appreciate love so much more than i already do. The memories in this show hold so much love in them. And it makes me reflect back on my memories with love and makes me want to enjoy life to the fullest so that I could look back on these current times with so much love as well ❤️

Franina

Despite being a mage Fern does have a nun's sensibilities. I guess it's because she looked up to Heiter so much. However it was funny when she told Frieren that, "alcohol is the best medicine" because you know for a fact that's what Heiter told her. 😆👍

Drift3r

Did you guys notice during the scenes with Flamme, their cloths look more like Greek robes with buildings with columns and in the present has a more Medieval Times feel? It shows the time lapse as the scenery changes. Also I def recommend Violet Evergarden for a watch. Still routing for Berserk too.

Heather… just wait til episode 14 (next ep) Also Jason is right LOL the little girl is the 49th chief in the history of the village This is one of the best anime’s out there, I’LL NEVER STOP SAYING IT BECAUSE IT’S TOO GOOD. It just won Best Drama Anime, Best Supporting Character (Fern), Best Director, and Best Background Art in the crunchyroll awards (and totally got robbed of Best Animation, Anime of the Year, and Best New Anime Series, IMO) Glad you guys are loving it so much ❤️
