This next arc I can’t tell where Jason will put it as far as rankings go. I know he will love it but since we’re so alike I can tell there are parts where it won’t really sit right with him. And I can’t wait to hear his comments about those parts. Question of the day: Jason what are some gifts you got for your birthday? And a question for both of you is what is something you would tell your younger selves? Name one thing you would tell yourself individually and one thing you would tell your younger selves as a couple? I hope that makes sense.

2025-08-10 09:19:54 +0000 UTCYeah, sadly those drawn-out scenes where you just want Momo to yell “Fight!” are a common thing. Oda does oversee the anime here and there, but he’s so busy with the manga that he mostly gives the animators free rein to direct episodes however they like, as long as they’re roughly following the manga material. Oda’s main work has always been the manga, the anime is part of One Piece, sure, but I’ve always seen them as separate entities, as they should be. That whole scene with Zunesha and Momo waiting five minutes to shout “Fight” is just the animators dragging things out to stretch an episode. It was just one page in the manga. You’ve already seen it before in Dressrosa, remember Pica’s arm taking like five minutes to come down? 😂 At this point, it’s become a funny critique of the One Piece anime. I just laugh and skip ahead to the moment it actually happens lol It even happened in the most recent episode of one piece where we’re all caught up, they took a scene that was literally a single page in Oda’s manga and stretched it into about five minutes. Toei Animation studios and the fandom have a total love/hate relationship at this point. Nothing to be done about it sadly 🤷🏻♂️ but that’s why most people watch one pace (a simplified version of the anime where drawn out scenes are cut) and we’re also waiting for the one piece remake to remedy all of this , whenever it comes out, if it ever will that is.

This episode heavily demonstrates Luffy’s (and now Momo’s) ability to hear The Voice of All Things, like Roger did at Skypeia. Luffy also heard the Sea Kings at Fishman Island although he didn’t realize what it was, and now we see Momo use this ability as well! And happy happy birthday Jason!! 🎊🎉🎂
