2024-01-30 08:50:49 +0000 UTCThere may be some strange payoffs to that arc. I have no reason to believe that Oda wrote in a whole arc of inconsequential content. There are some odd hidden lore gems in it, and it's a fun arc imo. Definitely do not recommend skipping it. The character interactions alone make it worthwhile.

2024-01-30 00:52:27 +0000 UTCAw man yeah the Satori fight thankfully is the worst fight of this arc and all the others are much more direct. I like the ball concept and a predictive enemy, but he does overstay his welcome a bit. Some smaller fights do that throughout the series, but that's largely the animes fault. However, this arc is pretty much the last arc with a few side villains you don't care for. I would say the side villains are far better going forward. Although I did skip the next canon arc, I will say it has never been referenced again after 1,000 plus episodes. You only miss a characters brief introduction at the end. It's the only canon arc that's actually inconsequential. Making it feel like filler to a lot of people including me.
