AOT definitely doesnโt give you a break!! Itโs either action-packed & heavy emotions or looots of explanation that requires your full attention. Your mind is actively present while watching the entire time! If not (as you learned) you will miss stuff. Itโs not for casual viewers. ๐ But itโs great commentary on war & human behavior. Later seasons lean into the ambiguity of those themes, along with โwhat is freedom?โ and how that differs person to person. Also, many characters (that you know now & will meet later) will further teeter between morally right & wrong, those morals change depending on different mindsets, & it becomes vague as to who is โgoodโ or โbadโ. Itโs a great way to present a cast that forces its viewers to not classify the characters into black & white, cuz everyone falls into the grey area.
