ONE PIECE ep. 217/218/219 | THE STRAW HATS R BACK TOGETHER!

Comments

The coming arc is not the best arc for many. It's good and very important but there are better ones for the majority of the fandom which I won't name of course

D Q

I always loved the Foxy arc. Just so funny. I think when people say skip they just can't wait for people to get to Water 7. You know Oda had fun writing it.

Jechtsphere

Thanks Regie, Storitella, Cheddah nakama! I agree with Cheddah that many fans found the villian in this arc is weak. Great villian can make a show. Unfortunately Foxy was not this type of villian. I admit this is not a great arc (because there are tons of great arc in comparison) but I get what I get and I did have some fun time.

theshittycook

While I agree with everything you said, I think a lot of it is lost because Foxy and his crew are just annoying characters. People fail to see the greatness of Luffy and him getting battered and then rising again, because they don't understand why he is struggling with Foxy to begin with. They just want it to be over because Foxy annoys them, so Luffy's resolve comes off as a stalling tactic, less so then the characterization it actually is. For me personally don't find Foxy that annoying, so I enjoy the arc and get the importance of the arc, but when watching with my friends they just couldn't get past Foxy. He just pops on screen and you can see their demeanor change to annoyance. They just wanted it to be over, all the good moments in the arc went over their head.

Cheddah Slammer

Excellently expressed, TSC!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ๐Ÿซถ Completely agree about LRLL.

storitella

Thanks for the uploads! Unfortunately people can't help themselves being overly excited and talk about / hype up things that hasn't happened yet in the story which is understandable! Just know the magic from the show comes from watching everything unfold one episode at a time, so it's good you don't let it affect you too much :D

Martin Hagen

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ yep what he said ahaha! and yeah the arc felt lighthearted but the consequences wouldve been dire. Losing a crewmate over a game? it sounds absurd and stupid but the way ODA wrote it is just *chefs kiss

๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—โค๏ธโค๏ธ the new anime drops tomorrow and we are excited

โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ we totally understand, and appreciate that! We know you got our backs! We felt bad for missing 211 and settle in that night and watched it!

Jason DeVan

Juice nakama, thank you. I am with you. To a certain extent, I could understand certain impatience of some fans even though I may not completely agree. Just try to accommodate in between LOL.

theshittycook

J&H, I don't dare to say too much before you both have watched the episodes, not completely safe for spoilers. Additionally, I don't want to interfere with your enjoyment and initial impression of the show. Just only give you my thoughts afterwards. BTW, remember to watch episode 211 ;)

theshittycook

If yes to promised neverland, then only season 1, season 2 should never exist.

romaiiiii

That's so exciting!!!!! Yall are amazing and there is so much to experience and fall in love with ( mind you lol one piece is and will always be my favorite piece of writing ever.) "Greatest story ever told" haha I am excited for other anime with a kickass couple to potentially experience

Jason DeVan

If we would have read this review, before starting this arc!?!? We wouldnโ€™t have skipped one damn episode!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚lmao! So well said TSC!!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ

Jason DeVan

Well said! It's why I made a comment for them to watch everything. In my opinion everything is important. Something relevant at the time or something for the future

Juice DaNinja

Thank you!! I don't mean to sound pretentious, but I kinda got that feeling already. It's why I ask ๐Ÿ˜…

Juice DaNinja

There is nothing wrong with that. To me that's more exciting. Fresh eyes and new fans

Juice DaNinja

Vinland Saga Season 2 was the best show of 2023 to me, itโ€™s so good!

Freshingredient

You really spoil us but I love it. Thanks J&H. Now that you've completed the LRLL, I want to express why I object to skipping this arc. This will also serve as my review, focusing particularly on the Zoro/Sanji game and Luffy's game. In the round of the Davy Back Games featuring Zoro and Sanji, their seemingly straightforward path to victory is marred by a combination of cheap tricks and their own pride, creating an illusion of discord between the two alpha males. Being of the same age and the eldest among the crew before Robin joins, a subtle yet palpable competition brews between them, fueling their rivalry. However, beneath the surface lies a deep-seated respect for each other's strength and an unspoken trust that belies their outward animosity. While some fans argue that they don't get along, Sanji and Zoro's interaction mirrors that of Sanji and Zeff's. I bet Sanji feels at ease in getting along with Zoro, showcasing a level of comfort and mutual understanding that transcends their rivalry. Likewise, Zoro's usual reluctance to seek assistance from anyone unless he truly trusts their strength and good nature showcases his underlying trust and respect for Sanji. They don't engage in sweet talking but show their love and care through their actions. This is their strange and endearing dynamic. This game further emphasizes the evolution of their characters and the advancement of their relationship dynamics, both of which are pivotal to the future trajectory of the crew. In Luffy's final round of the game, his unwavering willpower takes center stage as he repeatedly rises to his feet despite enduring countless beatings. This resilience serves as a powerful testament to his unwavering dedication to his nakama, each of whom he treasures deeply. His declaration, "I will not give up any of my nakama even if it costs me my life," encapsulates the core principle that drives his actions, serving as a reminder of the cornerstone for past and future arcs. While this arc may initially appear as a lighthearted diversion, it carries a profound underlying message about the characters and their dynamics. Through its deft storytelling, it serves as a poignant reminder of how to interpret their actions in future endeavors, enriching the narrative of the One Piece universe.

Cheddah Slammer

The ending of Foxy arc is good. Every ending of a arc is so heart warming

Yeah this is why I like this arc, however if your not a movie buff the Luffy with the Afro and Usopp being his manager goes over peoples heads.
