This was amazing during my initial One Piece watch, my first like genuine plot twist shock[edit: in One Piece]... (during my whole month COVID quarantine in April 2020 where all I did was play Final Fantasy VII remake and watch One Piece, {I'm a professional baker so I couldn't be near food service for a while}) ...I didn't have any Water 7 spoilers going into one piece... (but, I did have three significant spoilers from other arcs already unfortunately, though I didn't quite understand their weight at that time) ...I guess this arc is just that universally respected, and this is where I started reading the manga. I'm currently caught up on the manga and anime, but this is like still Top 3 arcs for me, and the only one that made me cry, and I mean UGLY cry, like I think five times, I hate spoilers, but I will say many moments in the future come very close to matching the emotions here, but this arc did it first.

Oda does it so much that you will start wondering who's good and who's bad a lot! And yes, Pluton is a weapon of mass destruction! Fab episodes! And still so many questions unanswered!

2024-03-19 16:21:02 +0000 UTCBit of an info dump: 1. Pluton the "Ship" IS the ancient weapon. 2. Robin can decipher the Poneglyphs as she is the only one left alive who knows the language. They are intimately connected to the "Void Century" (100 yrs of completely lost history between 800-900 yrs ago that the world govt bans anyone from researching). The poneglyphs being the only written records surviving from that time. This was something she explained in Alabasta I believe. Her main dream being about finding out the true history. This does not however mean that she has insane amount of advanced knowledge. Her story will unravel as this arc moves forward. 3. The Poneglyph text as part of the containing historical info also contain information on the Ancient Weapons (like the one in Arabasta had info on Pluton which Crocodile wanted and which disappointed her). Then she later has the revelation or realization ofc in Skypiea after reading Roger's words that the true history cannot be found on some singular poneglyph. It can only be found by connecting all the poneglyph texts together all the way to the end, thereby forming the "Rio" poneglyph of true history which doesn't yet exist.

2024-03-19 08:43:20 +0000 UTCYeah you picked it up Lucci did not once talk, it was always the pigeon. So when you do see the shadow figure talking to Robin, you can't even suspect that its him. Oda did this even though in Manga form readers wouldn't know anyway. It keeps their cover concealed from even Anime watchers. This is why many people consider this the real start of One Piece because Oda starts going into his bag with the writing skills.

2024-03-19 07:57:56 +0000 UTCThe cool thing about One Piece is it's so good that you'll maybe rewatch it on your own time or watch it with your friends, grandkids etc. i recommend enjoying the first watch through and don't worry about random people asking yall to try and find the pandaman or stuff. It's actually more fun for me if people don't mention things and you guys picked stuff up like, "why is there a random pandaman in the scene", as you journey through your first watch through but it's the internet and we don't always get what we want hahaha. Luffy getting stuck is annoying but it's what oda chose to do to proceed other parts of his story like a solo conversation between robin and iceburg. There's many way to achieve that or a solo fight between kaku and ropeman but that's just how oda does it. Just my recommendations, yall do with it however y'all like. P.s. Your setup is really good, I didn't hear any lawnmower noise at all :)

So many great perspective shots and just different angles. The very definition of a "treat" to watch for directors and just people who appreciate that sort of thing.

Iceberg has the blueprints to build it, which have been passed down for generations. The reason they don't just burn the blueprints is so that they can build another Pluton if the original ever started going out of control. They would essentially need another to fight it I like that you brought up Enel's ship lol. That's something that a lot of people have talked about over the years in regards to the Ancient Weapons. Like maybe Enel was inspired by one or something. Now you're in the theory game!

2024-03-19 04:24:48 +0000 UTCRegarding your talk at the end about Oda going back to plant seeds etc, gotta remember One Piece is a serialized manga. 1 chapter (about 18 pages of comic panels) releases every week, so whatever is printed in a chapter stays that way forever. He can't go back and change things. He's just very good at planning ahead. To be honest I don't know how he does it lol, especially later on when there are many more plotlines overlapping that each arc builds on. Oh very cool that was brought up by you guys anyway 💪 Oda will leave minor details in the dust we barely notice and make them relevant 800 chapters later (15 years in real time) and suddenly the community is going back through old arcs and finding things that help piece together things happening now. It's mind blowing to me
