During my re-watches, I noticed that the BGM for the final fight between Luffy and Crocodile in the Alabasta arc is Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," by Antonín Dvořák. Isn't it amazing how cohesive and fitting that choice is? I didn't want to reveal this detail earlier to avoid spoilers, but realizing this connection now is truly fascinating. Everything is to be explained later. From these episodes you only have to remember: - The name of the second half of the Grand Line is The New World (currently we are still in the first half) -Blackbeard (real name Teach) was on Whitebeard’ crew in the past under Ace’s command, but left it after murdering a fellow crew mate. - for the above reason Ace has been looking for Blackbeard in order to kill him, as punishment - Shanks is warning Whitebeard to stop Ace as Blackbeard is too strong for him. Shanks knows this since Blackbeard managed to scar him, which it’s crazy as Shanks is one of the 4 Emperors of the sea, aka super bad ass - shanks (and Buggy) was apprentice in Gol D Roger’ crew as a boy - like shanks, also Whitebeard is an Emperor of the sea, and was rival of people like Roger and Garp for example, aka the old generation - shanks uses a power called Haki

That flashback scene many episodes ago where Iceberg tells Kokoro they'll share a drink, "when we have something to drink to". And this episode we see Iceburg and Kokoro having a drink together. There's so much richness and texture in the details of this show. You guys probably thought this arc was over XD. You're currently experiencing the legendary one piece post-arc lore drops and other awesome stuff.

Your right shanks was warning whitebeard to stop Ace. Also don’t look up Haki (pronounced Haa Key) you’ll find out about it.

2024-05-14 13:03:07 +0000 UTCI love the way Oda uses these episodes in between arcs like intervals, filled with chill-out moments for the crew, but also building up lore and setting things up for the coming arcs. You can really see the world of OP moving beside our main crew, it's a breathing and living world which goes on separate from the main characters, almost like it's a character in itself.

Regarding the meeting between Shanks and Whitebeard, it was a visit to warn WB that one of his former crew members (Blackbeard, aka Teach) is more dangerous and powerful than it seems and to call off Ace's search for him. Shanks thinks that Ace cannot beat BB as the three scars on his face are BB's doing (and we all understood that Shanks is one of the 4 most powerful pirates in the series). But WB feels like Teach has crossed the line by killing one of his crew mates (for reasons still undisclosed), so he doesn't want to listen to Shanks. Jason, you are right, we saw BB last when the SH ascended to Skypiea. If you remember, he wanted to go after the SH but once he saw them going up the knockout stream, he decided to wait. He is obviously making a name for himself, so he is one to watch.

2024-05-14 04:54:58 +0000 UTCAokiji is such a complex character. When he's first introduced, he comes off as lazy, a bit pervy, but a decent guy. He helps the shipwrecked people get to a nearby island, but that was easy for him. Then, in direct contrast to what we thought he was, he goes after Robin and the Straw Hats. But even the way he fights is "lazy". He doesn't use any fancy, overpowered moves, he just freezes people. But THEN he decides to honor Luffy's courage and let them all go anyway. And during Enies Lobby, he's the one who gave Spandam the authority to use the buster call (again, laziness on his part). But after that fails, he tells everyone to let them go AGAIN, which could be attributed to him still being lazy. But we see him talk with Robin, almost congratulating her on finding people to take her in. He went out of his way to find her, the opposite of lazy, and he checked up on her. He's so fascinating, because at times it's like he's truly being kind, and other times he's being pretty ruthless. He seems torn between his duty as a Marine, and his own personal code. What's more, Oda never does anything without a reason. I mean, there's been stuff set up in the early episodes that gets brought up again hundreds of episodes down the line. I can't talk too much more about Aokiji, because this isn't the last you'll see of him. Still, he's one of the few characters in One Piece I just can't pin down. His motivations aren't as clear cut as most other people in the show.

Since he - Blackbeard - was a part of Ace's Second division of the Whitebeard pirates it is up to Ace to hunt down Blackbeard (Marshall D. Teach) for justice. Shanks is warning Whitebeard that he should call Ace off hunting Blackbeard as he believes that Blackbeard is stronger. Shanks references the three scars on his eye as proof - he did not let his guard down and Blackbeard still got even him. Also, Haki will be explained more so just remember it going forward.

The reason Ace is chasing Blackbeard is because he killed another crew member from their own ship, who hasn't been revealed yet. Shanks is basically warning Whitebeard that Blackbeard is stronger than Ace so he should stop Ace from going after him. Whitebeard think's of every crew member as a "son" so he thinks Ace should continue going after Blackbeard and since Shanks and Whitebeard disagree they clash swords.

2024-05-14 03:13:42 +0000 UTCWe went trough some very tense episodes since Robin was accused of shooting Iceberg, leaving the gang, followed by her not wanting to be rescued and sacrificing herself, and then fighting even with her teeth, to finally having probably the most sincere smile she's had in years. Gotta love the lighthearted episodes before the next adventure, and the next one will be fun! I hope everything is fine with your family, best wishes to all of you! :)

And it is "AL-key-gee" for the ice man. He also goes by kuzan. It's the case of name and military epithets. Jason you gotta trust a smart lady like Heather this is the first time it is mentioned whos crew buggy and shanks are on. That was some good attention to story.
