Mythic 6.0 Released! 5 Games, 5 Splatbooks, +More!

It's been a long time coming and then a final few days of crunch, but Mythic 6.0 is finally released. If you haven't been following the last year of development, then it's going to be one hell of an update for you. I don't even know where to start.

Mythic 5.0's release instantly saw work on 5.1 due to issues that weren't found before release. Over time, these updates expanded, overhauls were started, and massive changes started getting made. As I kept making changes and trying to fix issues and create a cleaner, easier game for players, more and more things needed changed alongside it all. The 5.1 minocker was changed 6.0 once I realized the amount of changes were just too extreme.

From there, Mythic 6.0 saw several betas and multiple last-minute proofreading sessions, some of which didn't really get any feedback. My biggest fear with all of this was that the massive amount of changes could cause issues. What if old things didn't interact with new things well? What if changes weren't implemented well? What if things that badly need updated were looked over? That's the big reason why I ran so many betas. Just hoping that I won't need to do an errata or 6.1 so soon after release.

DOWNLOAD MYTHIC 6.0 CORE HANDBOOK

Contains Mythic 6.0 Core Handbook; Colored and black and white character sheets; ONI, Warzone, Civilian, Cybernetics, and SKULL Splatbooks.

DOWNLOAD FRONTIER EXPANSION

Contains the free Titanfall expansion, Frontier, to be used with Mythic 6.0.

DOWNLOAD BLACKSITE EXPANSION

Contains the free XCOM 2 expansion, BLACKSITE, to be used with Mythic 6.0.

DOWNLOAD EMERGENCE DAY EXPANSION

Contains the free Gears of War expansion, Emergence Day, to be used with Mythic 6.0.

DOWNLOAD MEDIEVAL AGES EXPANSION

Contains the free medieval era combat and adventure content expansion, Medieval Ages, to be used with Mythic 6.0.

MYTHIC 6.0 EXPANSIONS

The expansions offered alongside Mythic 6.0 are new to 100DOS. I've never done expansions like this in the past. This takes the idea of the original standalone games like American Midwest, Medieval Europe, and Middle Ages Asia, and then strips all of the base rules out. This allows me to only need to update the main handbook when rule changes are made, meaning I can actually keep each and every one of these expansions freely updated for later editions.

This means that each expansion will cover all of the options and rules for its universe while the main rules for the game are still offered in the Mythic 6.0 Core Handbook.

Mythic 6.0 is launching alongside 4 full expansions, BLACKSITE (41 pages), Medieval Ages (53 pages), Frontier (66 pages), and Emergence Day (90 pages). Each of these games offer a new experience to be played in 100DOS, and each expansion, main handbook, and splatbook are fully compatible with each other.

More expansions may be announced soon, but I would like to get some splatbooks out for people, first.

MYTHIC 6.0 SPLATBOOKS

Mythic 6.0 releases with 5 splatbooks bundled inside.

ONI - This splatbook is returning from previous editions, updated to match 6.0 changes.

Warzone - Similar to the original Warzone splatbook from before, this new edition is completely overhauled from the ground up to offer even broader and crazier weapon customization options for all factions.

Civilian - This splatbook is returning from previous editions with no changes.

Cybernetics - A commissioned splatbook now bundled with Mythic. This offers non-canonical cybernetic implants and enhancements that players can give their Characters.

SKULL- A splatbook that offers 100 ways to modify how the game is played. The majority of these are based on the skulls offered in all of the Halo games, from the mainline games and also includes each and every spinoff.

MYTHIC - OLD FASHIONED WAR

This amazing song was made by Jafet Meza originally for Mythic 5.0's release. Due to a pretty amazing coincidence, Jafet wanted to remake Mythic's theme for an event. It came out pretty amazing, so here is a link to shout out his work, as well. Make sure to support him and give him a follow.

DEV SHEET AND COMPENDIUM WORK

Compendium work has been an ongoing project for what might be 8 months, now. Thanks to Warhound, the Mythic 6.0 overhaul has been accompanied by a massive undertaking of tracking and updating information based on an absolutely massive spreadsheet tool. From balancing weapons, vehicles, and Soldier Types, to automatically transferring Soldier Types into Bestiary entries. There are so many things this spreadsheet is capable of tracking and giving our balanced pricing values, as well. This even includes armor, armor variants, vehicles, vehicle variants, weapons, weapon variants, ammo, special ammo, soldier types, bestiary charts, equipment, permutations, and weapon modifications.

Each and every one of these is then tracked into two sets of multiple massive tables, one set for Roll20, and one set for Foundry VTT.

This data is collected and parsed into the existing character sheets for each, where both Warhound and AugmenTab are working tirelessly to bring you completely automated compendiums.

The Devsheet is also freely available for anyone to make a copy of and begin using to create their own content. This can be acquired by joining the Discord and asking for it.

So, what do these compendiums do?

ROLL20

For Mythic 6.0's Roll20 release, Warhound has given me a list of what the Roll20 sheet will allow you to do with its compendium.

The Roll20 compendium will allow GMs and players to drag and drop the following items into their sheets automatically to streamline character creation and gameplay:
-Ranged and Melee Weapons
-Armor
-Variants
-Equipment
-Abilities
-Vehicles
-NPC Stat Lines
More compendiums will follow once the mythic compendium is working and any bug/missing features have been ironed out.

The Roll20 sheet has been remade for Mythic 6.0, bringing hundreds of changes to give a better user experience and a lot more tools to work with. We're currently waiting for Roll20 to get back to us so Warhound can continue the work needed.

The version you want to look for is named 100DOS Mythic by 100DOS.


Foundry VTT

For Mythic 6.0's Foundry VTT release, Augmentab has made a statement I'll quote to you all.

The v0.3.0 release of Mythic for Foundry represents the single largest update to the system implementation so far. In addition to the update to Mythic 6.0, and compatibility with Foundry v10, we now also have: ammo tracking, natural armor, persistent scatter, range penalties on attacks, perceptive range, special damage indicators, shields and characteristics modifiers for Actors from equipped Items, compendium packs, and Vehicle Actors.
Compendium packs are an ongoing project. Currently, we have Armor, Armor Permutations, Equipment, Melee Weapons, and Ranged Weapons - either completely or for each faction in the game. Shortly after the release, another follow-up release will add Bestiary, The Flood, and a Vehicle pack for each faction as well.
Vehicles by themselves would make this the largest update to date. This sheet includes support for Walkers and Stationary Turrets in addition to traditional vehicles. Movement values are tracked and modified by damage, as is the vehicle's doom state. And, perhaps the most important new feature: Role Assignment. Roles can be assigned to Actors via their ID and tasks on the Vehicle, and the Vehicle will use that Actor's stats for rolling weapon attacks, Evasions, and Maneuver Tests where applicable.

You'll be able to get your hands on the Foundry VTT sheets and updates by joining the Discord. There may be another way to get it now, but AugmenTab is currently away so I can't get you that info at this time.

WHAT'S NEXT? SPLATBOOK COMMISSIONS!

I have plans for what's next. This includes some new splatbooks and expansions. And there may be a big, new standalone title in the future regarding a fresh new IP.

BUT FIRST, I want to do user-commissioned splatbooks. Have something you've always wanted rules for? Want to see new universes and options for players? Rules for things you need for your games that you think others could also find useful? This is for you. Commissioned splatbook prices can be negotiated based on the amount of work needed. The BLACKSITE expansion began as a commissioned splatbook that I decided to expand out into a full expansion. The Civilian, ONI, Cybernetics, and Warzone splatbooks also all began as commissioned splatbooks. Each now have been living alongside Mythic with each update after, continuing to be updated and expanded upon as time goes on.

After the commissioned splatbooks, new splatbooks are also planned, one that will eventually be folded into the next edition of Mythic, and another that will offer new options for GMs. Both are not currently announced, but I'll have more information in the future about them.

MYTHIC 6.0's CHANGELOG

This one is a doozy. Well-beyond anything this system has ever seen. There are over 11 pages of total changes spanning 5 beta test runs. Each of these betas ran long enough to parse through ALL given feedback and make the needed changes. Mythic 5.1, Mythic 5.1 Beta 2, Mythic 6.0 Beta, Mythic 6.0 Last Call beta, and Mythic 6.0 Final Beta.

This doesn't even include the 3 last minute participation-based proofreading sessions that were hosted. Though the changes made from these proofreading sessions were logged in the changelog.
