THE EXPANSE IS BACK ! And I was clearly stressed before the episode, when I should be nothing but excited. Like I said at the end of the intro, I'm not afraid : I know these writers, and even if I think bad things are gonna happen and we could lose people we love, I know I'm not gonna be disappointed. And clearly, this first episode was going with that feeling, it had a "back to basics" feeling I loved. A lot of things changed, our guys changed, the situation is bad, but all of the ingredients and the DNA of the show were there.
The Rocinante Crew seem really tired, but it's not like they spent entire days involved in situations and battles in which they had to position themselves. Like they don't see a way out of all of that. But Chrisjen can offer one ? Please, I want to hear that, give me a reason to have hope. For Filip, it seems that no matter what he does, I will continue to have hope for this kid, and here, he seems to have doubts and/or regrets, to not trust his father like he did. And for a good reason, something sounded off in Marco's speech : ideas are the same, but intentions changed.

Gloomy ? I thought on the contrary that we were back to basics, that our guys were where they are supposed to be, that they are offering us already a lot of ways to resolve things : Filip who doesn't follow his dad anymore, the Roci Crew who is going on an important mission which can help a lot, Drapper and Chrisjen who have already a bigger idea in minds etc.

I'm pretty sure Filip shot his friend dead. I'm thinking his redemption arc will include him sacrificing himself for the greater good.
