College of Mysteria Progress Report and ramblings + poll.

This is going to be a long post so I'll start with the stuff people probably want to know.

The upcoming update should take a little over a week at current pace. There will be non ero content with Elise to further that side of the plot. There will be a scene with Lizzy and netori scenes with Wendy. Cindy is ever present.

I'm not exactly sure what to do with progress updates. If someone has suggestions i'm all ears. I think the general idea is to tease content.

Now is where I ramble. One criticism I get a lot of the scenes are very short. It's not exactly untrue, but it's mostly intentional. I'm always looking to improve but altering general length of scenes isn't exactly simple mainly due to everyone having different taste.

What the general premise of the story was and still is. Is to focus on a bunch of small erotic stories involving multiple characters. I like fantasy so the setting is fantasy, and I thought it was funny to make an ero game set in a psuedo grimdark world. That's basically collapsing around the two goofball main characters. While exploring the relationship between MC and Cindy.

Maybe it was a little ambitious, in retrospect. Just a simple office setting where Cindy is just a coworker and Gwen is your boss probably would have been better to start.

Anyway let me get back on track. I could add more dialogue to scenes, but more dialogue doesnt always mean better. Scenes can start to drag. The scenes are as they are because I prefer concise scenes. But I'm not exactly adverse to adding more, I know for a fact a lot of people like idle chatter that doesn't necessarily go anywhere.

Another point of contention is ero scenes specifically, they're probably too short. For me I'm more interested in the buildup and general idea of the scene then just having more images for the scene. For instance I could have 20 different angles of a character giving a BJ, but that doesn't change the actual scene at all. I'm more interested in who's giving the bj to who and why under what circumstance.

That doesn't mean I'm not looking to improve scenes. I just think the focus is on the buildup, which can always improve.

Another thing I'd like to talk about is what's actually taking time. Working with AI you may think the art doesn't take long. Unfortunately it does, infact it takes about 80% of the time easily. Some things are easy to do. Like this one.

Granted I still had to edit her fingers and face, then reposition her hat to sit correctly. Compared to some things, it took no time at all. Because AI is good at doing what it's trained to do. The moment you go away from that, it's all clever tricks and workarounds with a whole lot of manual editing.

Next thing I'd like to talk about, at some point I need to wrap everything up. I don't intend to work on this for years. I'd rather finish and work on something else. I want to get towards something that resembles an ending so then I can focus on actual alternate routes and endings.

As an example, what happens if you don't bring Cindy to Mysteria. This is a rediculous scenario that I wouldn't do. But a more realistic example would be, what would happen if Elise dies or what would happen to Cindy if you died. Along with not so world shattering occurences. I kind of want to do an virgin mc route, because some people want to just be able to skip certain ero scenes, so why not be able to skip all of them. If I was ever to do an NTR route, it would probably be that one.

A lot of people talk about choices, as I've lightly talked about in the previous paragraphs. Any meaningful choice takes a whole lot of work. To the point I'd almost be doubling the amount of work. I could add a choice every few lines that basically does the +5 happy points with Audrey, "Cindy didn't like that", that kind of things isn't really difficult to implement. I just feels like the same thing with extra steps, but it may enhance the experience for some.
