2021-09-01 06:31:19 +0000 UTCI have to strongly disagree with you. Thanks to the talk with his father, his plan was clear and not fuelled by hate and revenge. Ofc he wanted to find the people who killed his mentor, but blinded by revenge and anger? I did not get that sense at all and if that were the case, I don’t think having Kakashi go along would’ve helped. Shikamaru came up with a good plan and has a relatively clear mind considering what he just want through. The only reason Kakashi offered to go along, imo, was bc teams need to be 4 - that’s a rule. He wanted to help them bc what they were doing was the right thing. Personally I didn’t see much of a parallel between how Sasuke handled things VS how Shikamaru did, but that’s bc their experiences were completely different. Shikamaru (basically an adult by this world’s standards) saw Asuma die in the line of duty. Sasuke saw his whole village slaughtered for no apparent reason as child. There is minimal similarity here from my perspective and I didn’t get the feeling or hint from the show personally that “Shikamaru now knows how sasuke felt”.

2021-07-29 22:05:53 +0000 UTCI think Shikamaru after losing his sensei understands how Sasuke felt when he left the village to get revenge on Itachi though what happened to Sasuke was much worse. You can tell after Asuma died Shikamaru was already being blinded by revenge and anger when they were about to leave the village and fight recklessly, until Tsunade and Kakashi stopped them.
