the tone is definitely a lot different than season one. I mean, all the same elements are still there, but now there's something "more" to it that I was looking for in season 1! I really look forward to more

2019-12-05 22:49:30 +0000 UTCI am glad to see you getting so involved in the politics and situations in the anime. I think the fact that they try to portray it as realistically as possible contributes to making it more believable and relateable, like you were saying, and helps elicit an emotional reaction. Thank you for your investment in the series!

2019-12-05 18:49:56 +0000 UTCMean and average should be the same thing; mathematicians use the terms interchangeably. The value in the middle is "median". Exact terms aside, the explanation in the above post is great.

2019-12-04 20:52:25 +0000 UTCMean vs Average: Let's say you have ten people. One has a million dollars, the other nine have nothing. On average they have 100.000 dollars. The mean would be if you line them up ascending and pick the one in the middle. So 0 dollars. So the mean gives a better representation for what it is like for most people. The difference between mean and average is a hint of how large the outliers are. For the anime the mean was quite high, with a low average. This means that most people rated it rather highly, whereas there were a few that didn't like it at all and gave an extremely low rating.

2019-12-04 06:55:41 +0000 UTCThat second episode is one of the most satisfying anime episodes I have ever seen. To see him get fucking brutalized like that the moment the enslavement was found out was just too good. Kant once said that we do not lose our dignity when we are treated as subhumans, but when we treat others as such.
