2022-09-18 16:23:45 +0000 UTCThis film is a homage to Taxi Driver (1976) hence the inclusion of Robert De Niro. Which is a superior film in every way. Todd Phillips isn't the type of director to make something like this work, much better observer than storyteller. The idea to make the sequel a musical is better suited. I'm still under the impression his GG Allin documentary was the best thing he's ever done.
