I'm back from my camping vacation in northern Minnesota, which was delightfully cool and refreshing. I was hoping to have a big breakthrough eureka with the the Libby x Holly story, which didn't really happen but I'm taking that to mean that I'm probably making it more complicated than it needs to be and I need to go back to basics and simplify things until it comes easier to me.

1. These are the ipad doodles that came out of the trip. I'm considering adding a third character to the the mix with Libby and Holly, although it's been difficult to figure out how to insert her into the story, regardless I'll keep doodling her because she's kinda witchy and it's getting to be that season.

2. More Holly and Libby things, plus that third character. I've been tossing around a lot of names but none of them quite fit just yet.

3. After finishing the FfaL I really got attracted to the whole endsheet notion and I thought it might be nice to further differentiate the inkjet and laser versions of my physical comics by adding a similar flourish. A similar, dense tiling pattern of objects from the story that can color the back cover of the books! It's more work to add, but these were fun to draw in an idle fashion while drinking a whiskey on vacation between hiking and cooking over a fire. :)
