In contrast, look at it from the other direction. Miss Match had a crush on a guy, had one bad date with him, he got fired from his job because of it, and then she hears ON THE NEWS that the guy has moved on to a different girl. It's not even a break-up; they only had 1 date. From Miss Match's perspective, she had a one night stand that ended badly with a guy who immediately bounced to the next girl. Is that really so unbelievable? What on Earth has Cap done to warrant any amount of extra trust? From Miss Match's side of things, is this really so different than the way he tossed PsyChick aside for another girl? I agree that Miss Match is smart. And a smart girl isn't going to get all starry eyed over a guy after one date. Not when literally everything in the world seems to suggest he's just another dude trying to get laid with anyone he can.

There's a lot of comedy potential there. Miss Match could have nightmares about turning into a chain smoking housewife from Hoboken with her hair in curlers as she goes to play bingo at the local Rotary Club.
