2024-10-21 00:01:55 +0000 UTCJust checked online and with Exo in 2017 the voting polls for a lot of the awards being given out at Mama showed that Exo should have won most of them but instead they only won 1 award out of all the ones they were nominated for that night and both Exo and the Exo-ls who had voted were not happy about Mama snubbing Exo out of winning the awards that they should have apparently won and rigged them for other artists to win which I think is what GD is alluding to about how Mama started giving awards out to everyone even if the voting polls showed they did not win the vote so that there wasn’t just one artist or group winning every award but then that’s not really fair on the many fans who voted for them for that artist then not to win. So I think GD was like I don’t even care anymore I’ve proven myself enough without having to get awards for it so Mama can give them to who they want🙈😂 Not really sure why that happened or what Mama had against Exo or BigBang but yeah the fans were not happy about it and I’m sure in Exo’s winning speech that night at Mama 2017 Baekhyun even says to Exo-ls not to cry/ worry about it so yeah might be why not as many artists from those companies perform there anymore, things might have gotten better since but not sure and there’s lots of more year end award shows now so Mama isn’t really the main big end of the year show as what it was back then and I think it does have to do with them rigging awards sadly, sorry for the long story there.

2024-10-20 22:29:06 +0000 UTCMama used to be so good I feel like that was THE end of year show that most big idol groups or popular groups were on but GD does kinda say in his rap that Mama was starting to snub bigger artists from YG and SM I believe as I know Exo had a bad experience at Mama in 2017. I do think that had more to do with the people who own and organise Mama having a problem with YG and SM entertainment and not the artists themselves but I’m not 100% sure on that. All I know is that a lot of YG artists and SM artists started to not attend or perform at the show around 2019ish not sure if some of them have performed since I’ll have to refresh my memory and look it up again but yeah love that GD just said whatever he wanted to about feeling disrespected by the Mama awards whilst performing at them😂
