SHINee - I'm yours, I'll be missing you, Juliet(LMNT), Quasimodo Reaction and Commentary

This was a fantastic performance featuring a concept we've deeply missed. We would love to see it make a comeback, and idols should do more of these kinds of performances!

I really need a SHINee ballad when they make another comeback. I really miss them.

Wowowow on the Muzit is so good. It's too auto tuned in the album but the liver version is so good 👍

Interesting. I (Theo) really thought it must have been because of his more rare vocal. We need to check out more very early SHINee to give some commentary on his evolution over the years. Also, yeah, vocally everyone in SHINee really compliments the group well in that they neither contrast with each other too much nor end up sounding "samey".

Hey that's such a unique clip. We'd absolutely love to react to this

Haha, I urge you guys to look up their car karaoke session from 2021. As raw as it gets! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwox-Q0SjFs (Selected cuts!)

Yes, this was during the Lucifer era, and "Quasimodo" is a B-side from the same album, which was their second full album. I love the harmonies in "Quasimodo"—it’s one of my favorite ballads! Speaking of SHINee's vocal timbres, they are all very distinctive and unique. Key has that metallic tone, while Onew’s voice is rich and youthful. It’s even more amazing how they blend so beautifully and harmoniously when singing in unison. That said, Taemin’s vocal timbre had nothing to do with his limited lines early on. What you’re hearing here is his progress over just a few years, from their debut in 2008 to 2010. However, he was still in the process of improving. Many people believe he reached his peak around 2012–2014 and has been pretty stable since then.

Believe it or not SHINee are quite avid fans of rock and metal music, especially Jonghyun who's played bass in a rock and then jazz bands and Taemin who's a big fan of Korn has even covered one of their songs. SHINee has quite a few rock leaning tracks particularly in their Japanese discography. Their most faithful rendition of it, however, must be the nu-metal arrangement of one of their old title tracks Amigo (which is originally an electronic dance song). They performed it a couple of times and even released an official audio of that version on one of their live albums, but I think the one below is the best one and I totally recommend it! (Amazing staging with wires that propel them in the air, vocal fry/screams and energy is through the roof). https://youtu.be/OFdB-kikb1M

Their old radio performances are legendary, they look like they were shot with a potato but at least the sound is good lol. If you do more don't miss out on SHINee's cover of TVXQ's Mirotic! Rookie SHINee slayed it so hard it's still the best cover of it. Official recording: https://youtu.be/VA3JIVF9UHY Someone also filmed a raw version of their vocals only with a phone: https://youtu.be/uo8olNnPjqk

They already reacted to Why So Serious MV on Youtube but yes the SWC V version with all five of them is a must! Definitely the best performance of WSS, with the theatrical SHINee elements, energy and amazing dance break!

Quasimodo is a favorite of mine, if you want to hear it with all 5 members than I recommend this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib35Ii6T5hw

Another hidden gem that I want to shed light on is Onew and Jonghyun singing a beautiful cover of Tragedy. It’s old but gold and jonghyun mentioned this song was sang just moments after their very first win ever with Juliette. There are videos of jonghyun crying passionately over their first win and he called this cover a real tragedy that it had to be right after an emotional win 😆 - https://youtu.be/7SiGLLeeNeU?feature=shared

If you wanna hear more raw vocals shinee was also very popular for their dry rehearsals. The video I have showcases their raw vocals that even other idols wanted to watch them. This video gathered fancams because there was no proper recording of dry rehearsals around this time as most people just wanted to watch shinee rather than record them, but that shows what times were like back then. https://youtu.be/r1IFH8BzggA?si=aiU6pCaT5LKiJRPM As for the Muzit show they did, unfortunately I couldn’t find anymore shinee videos from it, it really was deep in YouTube’s dungeon.

Glad you liked the videos, this is definitely one of the more hidden gems of shinee’s event-filled careers but didn’t gain much views because of the ancient low quality video (but high quality vocals). You guys might be the only reactors I know that’s reacted to this haha that’s why not many people know this gem exists. Minho wasn’t in this show and other live performances around this time because of an ankle injury. If you wanted to hear what rock shinee would sound like they attempted it already with a music video of Why So Serious which is pop rock and funk rock. It has an experimental and theatrical approach but combines rock elements and that shinee sound. They did a live version on their concert with all 5 of them - https://youtu.be/Io5MXNwioT4?si=pHy_3Ba6l8XXgENn
