2025-04-24 02:55:10 +0000 UTCYes, you guys are totally right — this kind of documentary and documentation really feels like a time machine for VIPs and YG stans right now. Back in 2009, there was 2NE1 TV that aired on YouTube (though if you look back now, the video quality was terrible — but at the time, 360p felt like an oasis, LOL). Maybe that was the first idol "vlog" kind of content from their own channel, and it truly showcased the behind-the-scenes life of idols and how YG Entertainment worked back then and i guess it was one of the first that comes up w/ more casual, documentary-style idol content. From that show, the term "YG Family" really took root — and even though it’s more lowkey now, it still exists. You could see it in the way everyone interacted: from producers (mainly Teddy and Kush — now at The Black Label), to YG himself, the 1st gen YG artists, BIGBANG, 2NE1, and all the crew that still work with them to this day. You can even spot some of them in the MADE movie documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, or in BABYMONSTER Behinds and Treasure Re-ALL and Behinds.. The melody and other instrumental elements is a sample from Black Machine's song with the same name 'How Gee’. But Bigbang (all of them) and Perry rewrote the lyrics. This is also the first time TOP and Front Man (squid game) worked together. The images on the screen in the background are from the drama. You should definitely check IRIS, it's on Netflix right now. They said it's one of the most expensive action drama at that time. It has 20 episodes. Also some recommendations: A Fool of Tears (Japan Love and Hope Tour 2011).
