it's hard to say which of the 2 is stronger, the author himself answered this question in his fanbook, saying that it depends a lot on the circumstances of the fights, and the emotional state of one of the 2, but when meliodas reaches the demon king form, there's no chance for escanor

2022-04-27 00:50:58 +0000 UTCMeliodas technically unintentionally holds back in fights since he’s so strong like he does in season 1, zeldris said it when he fought escanor himself, so escanor is technically stronger than zeldris but not meliodas since he is the captain he’d obviously be stronger plus his emotions were different in the last fight, so it made him underestimate escanor the last fight since meliodas forgot about the sins and remembered the commandments cuz his memories reset during that fight
