Only ppl w/ really OP amounts of magic and/or people who are Spiritual enough can see them (not accounting for any potential races that have extra senses or w/e that can detect this shit from birth that is, as tends to be the case w/ Fantasy settings w/ fantasy races etc), so usually only Magi can see them by Default with 0 training or anything (and the natural exceptions like species w/ extra senses and shit like that, obviously) Edit: oh I suppose that even normies can see them, if the density in the area is enough so that they become visible to the naked eye due to the sheer amount of energy they passively emit when gathered together. But you'd likely not survive such a scenario, since those kinds of energy levels would generally be magic equivalent of nukes being assblasted between dueling magic users or magic user vs huge armies or such. Pretty much only Magi could achieve such w/ 0 prep time at the drop of a hat anyway, normie magic users would prolly need to do shit like ritual sacrifices for nukes etc, perhaps even multiple magic users required to deplete all of their own magic reserves as well in addition to sacrifices, y'know generic fantasy shit and all that?
