Wow =/

Most bars need to check IDs and remove any minors (rather than let an adult order a drink and give it to said minor). By making the statement without asking to see ID, the barkeep is covering her business, without risking official awareness of Sunny's potential minor status, and thus the risk of having to kick her out. If Sunny just handed ID, no biggie, one Long Island up. If Sunny backed off, no harm, no foul, no need to boot and ruin everyone's evening.
