So Get Down (First Demo 2016)

The idea for this song was born around the 7th of June of 2016. I had been listening to Hamilton Bohannon those days and got inspired to build something like a "disco suit", reminiscent of the first ballroom era in the 70's, were a speaker would pick a mike and start talking over the music (Soul Train anyone?).

I started building little pieces of music, resampling them, playing some electric piano, bass and guitar samples and toning down the house beats to make it all sound kinda future disco. Then I remembered that funny way the Russian singer Vitas had of performing his hit "7 Элемент" and that robotic synth line came up. The vocals on this demo are all edited from an improvised long take, I only had a few ideas and began just talking and singing here and there. There are some parts that got lost on the final album version available on my first album "Songs For A Better Future". The vocoder parts are processed with several hardware vocoders I still had back then in Madrid. I only have left with me the Mininova this days, check out the live performance of this on on my Youtube channel.

I mixed this first demo on November 7th 2016. It took me a long time to record and build all the elements present, but it was tremendous fun. Enjoy!
