Dinner with the family

What a month. It's still not over, there is still Frisha's scene that I have to finish, but I guess I can take a small recap of everything that happened.

First off, I'm really happy that thanks to your support I will be able to continue working on this game without this thought that gnaws at me and tells me I'm spending more money than I earn. Livingcosts here in Germany are quite high. On top of things like income tax and costs for living I also have to pay for my health insurance (obligation here). Currently I'm unable to save anything. But the important thing for now is that I can live from this income!

It will take a while before I can make high jumps like buying a new pc and gpu to improve render quality or even further to employ someone who helps me with my work.
I'm not going to add new goals for the moment because I have to figure out the costs for that.. Also I don't want to add something like "At this point I will buy a new pc" because I will do that as soon as gpu's will become available again (current nvidia prices are insane!) and I have saved up enough to buy one.
But I want to stay true to my current pledge goal. Next month I will start a poll about who will be the first female character who gets some voiceover. I guess it is pretty much already decided who will win :D but we'll see! Also votes will carry over again and I will try to add more of that in the future as much as my spare time to add these allows me to.

Now a bit about the last update (includes spoilers! Skip this paragraph if you don't want them, sadly still no spoiler tag here on patreon):

I really underestimated the time it would take to work on all these paths. I did what I could in the given time but it still felt a bit incomplete at the end. There were a lot of things to consider like: Did the player already do Emily's quest? How far did that go? Does she already have her new dress? Was Mira's love route already completed? What does Frisha know? (thinking about future events, Will Frisha's dress change too?). While Mira is in the sanctum what If you lose a fight? What if Emily's quest progresses... You get the idea.
This was really complex and I'm not even sure I've now covered everything. I know that I would have liked to add more thoughts to Emily's quest if you now do it after you did Mira's content. I changed some dialogue lines but I think it doesn't go deep enough.

Because of that I've decided to add another rework option next month on top of the other new option I want to add. I know that this goes against my idea of having only 8 options at a time, but I don't want to delay that option further because I think it is important to fix some problems the game currently has. The biggest problem I see is the combat. It feels too slow for my taste. Fight's should be done quicker with bigger blows and more tactical options. I also want to fix these gamebreaking bugs with the audioparam..
For that, as bad as it feels I will have to break current savefiles :( I tested it and it won't go without doing that. So I guess the sooner this happens the better because I don't want to do it again after that. In that process I also want to change the savefile location so that you don't have to copy them over with every new update. Could have done that already, but decided against it because if you then have broken saves and new ones in the same folder it could cause complications.

So these were just a few thoughts that are currently on my mind ;)

I'll now continue working on Frisha's scene.. Still missing those 2 days extra time, damn you Febuary! Hope I can get it done until tomorrow noon/afternoon.
